This is an outdoor web site for users to share locations of places to participate in outdoor sports such as caving, hiking, camping, etc. Existing site can be found at http://www.backcountrysecrets.com I need to update the layout of my site to take advantage of a wider screen format and just bring the overall look of the site up to date. I only need the site designed, not coded. Payment will be $100 PayPal. Final product needs to be delivered as .PSD with all layers intact. PM designs are welcome…but I prefer posts in forum. Contest will run a minimum of 5 days. (Close no sooner than 18 May 2009) I want the site to utilize the space of a 1024 resolution monitor. I need to have space for ads, as that is the only revenue (as measly as it is) for the site. Here is my idea for the site: Very eager to know what do you think about it. The header seems to give the whole color aspect of the design, but it's still bringing the content before your eyes.
x8smile: The actual content of the website needs to take up the full 1024. RaduTRIFAN: You are more on the right track. I don't like how the logo blends in so much to the background on the header. The overall layout of your idea is a good one, but it feels kind of boring. Overall I really like the header section, but the content section is lacking. (Not a big deal, but "Contact Us" is spelled wrong)
Radu: After looking at your design some more one of the things I think I don't like is the bars are too tall.

Radu: Those are looking much better. Thanks for the alternates. I like the first of the three new ones the most. destudio84: The header just isn't working. Wrong kind of bicycle. The content section just feels like a go between of the existing site and Radu's design.

Radu: One thing you could try is a different color on the link bar. Something to distinguish it just a bit from the top header.
Here it is - made the menu stand out more plus applied some effects to other content elements - took out the strokes from the content boxes to make them more focused on the content and not on the boxes decoration and made a foreground light orange contour in order to make the design look more integer.
