Hi guys, I need your help in designing a homepage for a website that helps college kids find rides back home. Few things to keep in mind when designing this homepage: 1. I don't want to have to scroll on the front page - everything should be seen right when you enter it. 2. I would like the login to be simple and accessible. I really like Twitter's login so you can do something similar 3. I like the idea of a sky blue/light blue background, with a mixture of white and other shades of blue (if you need any inspiration - check out http://www.colourlovers.com/web/trends/websites/7857/Box) 4. There should be a big background picture and the background picture should fit with the overall color scheme of the homepage! I really like www.ovi.com - people love looking at good scenery, and if we could find a picture similar to that with people driving, I would absolutely love it. I also think the way Ovi highlights/glows the people is really awesome - if you could make the car or the people glow a little bit (not too much) like Ovi it would be awesome. Also, if you look at the way Ovi's homepage again, you will notice that some of the words light-up/glow a bit - I think that would look cool too if possible. I'm not really sure about whether the main picture should take up the entire page or just the middle section, but I will let you decide and judge from there. 5. For the top part of the home page, I would like it to say "Find Ride" and "Post Ride" (Refer to picture I attached) 6. I trust your judgment from here - you know what I like. I would like a clean, modern, professional/high quality, and SIMPLE to use looking home page - something with good scenery and people driving/smiling. Don't want to include too many words, and I prefer not to have anything on the front page look cartoony at all. 7. The new motto is "A safe and secure network where YOU pick the price of your travel" 8. The little "ticker symbol" on the homepage that I sketched under the motto that has different destinations like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, etc., should have words moving across the screen (think Twitter's homepage). 7. And at last but not least, attached is the sketch I made of the homepage I want, so please refer to it when working on your design because that's the kind of layout I want. Here is the homepage sketch: Winner will have to provide a PSD file of the page and will be paid $100 via paypal. Looking forward to your designs guys and remember, this is a 48 hour contest! Thanks.
interesting.. but you mentioned you want a PSD.. fine.. but you also reference to coding components like the sliding header and the rollovers etc?
Guys, make just the design, you DON'T need to code this. As far as rollovers are concerned simply make two versions and I will than connect them myself... also I will make the sliding header myself, I was just letting you know what I plan to have there. Please make the design very professional though and the way I want it, that's what I'm most interested in! Let me know if you have any other Q's. Thanks.
Hey, I know deadline is off, but I promised to make an entry and here's what I've come up with. I hope I get some feedback. Click the image for full size view
Sparkle that design is sick!!!...but you misspelled RideOffers at the bottom in the Copyright Section, it says "RifeOffers"...
@amir_daman: Congrats, you win! We made a lot of revisions together and finally we have a version I like! Please check your PM.
