Contest $100 Logo Contest

Discussion in 'Design Contests' started by SCW, Mar 11, 2011.

This time around, I will require a logo for a company that offers various services related to stone and concrete work (e.g., stamped concrete driveways & patios, retaining walls, steps, flagstone patios, etc.). They do not deliver concrete.

The client desires a logo that conveys a vintage or retro appeal. The logo should not be "busy" and will make use of at most 3 colors - primary being #3985C5 or similar & may incorporate #1F1E1C or #F7E7AC (just for example).

For further inspiration, please review these:retro style

The overall shape should be in an elliptical or rounded form.
    Name: All Phase Concrete
    Tag: Since 1990

I need to create a logo that will be suitable for branding across social media channels (e.g., company website, FB, Twitter, business cards, etc.)

I am open to creative, professional suggestions and look forward to your questions and designs!

Professional entries only - no cookie-cutter stuff, please

I will end the contest on the evening of the 13th.

    Thank you!

    Hello Zainadeel,
Thanks for your entry. Although appreciated - is not what we are looking for.
Also, do you notice that the horizontal (mortar) lines in bricks are not on the same plane as the font and horizontal break lines in the crest appear to be on yet another plane - lends a "struggled" feel to the image.

    Hello Pano4e4ka,
Thanks for the entry. I wouldn't say that it has a strong retro appeal, but very nicely done.

    Riconeill,
It was placed upon me at last minute... so, due to time constraints - sorry.

Of your entries - actually prefer the 1st attempt - thanks for the additional effort!
I think it would take changing more than the font or placement of the stone to achieve the look and feel I have in mind.
Did you refer to example site? Not asking you (or anyone else) to copy that style, rather, just to get a "feel" for what I have in mind.

    Thanks again!

Very well done! Can you envision this on the side of a white truck? If so, what changes (if any) would you make to the color scheme?
    Thank you.
