Here's some feedback for you: Please treat the designers with respect, they are giving their time, effort and skill and you are bashing their designs. Instead of telling the designer every aspect of their design you don't like.. give suggestions, comments, and help them to design what you are looking for. Some great designs up there, nice work guys. Good luck with your contest.
I have to agree with gfxpr0 as I have submitted the one earlier and am close to being finish with my second design which I put more time and detail into [Still at the office]. Anyhow I'm headed home and hope to have it up tonight or tomorrow. . . .looking forward to my submission and the reviews that it gets. . .
Yeah I have to agree, your asking for something unique but you give no ideas yourself. What is a designer to do!! I mean it sounds like you want a $500 quality logo for $100 fact is it you have a good idea but without feedback from you on what you do like we won't know where to aim since we all seem to have the same idea of silhouettes for a fashion design themed website.
I have to quote Shawn Ross here: We must draw a line between the quality of work that you get for $100 vs. $500. It's like the old saying goes - "You get what you pay for".
@xpressions that is dope! but on small print wont the bottoms of the c's blend into the w to make like w boobs.
I know u have right to like or dislike design but plz dont use such word which hurt some one... Atleas he spend some time to design.. if u dont like just write down it is not my requirement rather than "Are You Joking" I hope u dont mind Have a Great contest and i wish you find out what you really want
Sure, it may not be called for, but I can understand the Contest Holder's frustration with some of the designs he's receiving. I mean, he's offering $100 for a professional looking job, and he's being hit with submissions that don't even fit the criteria. A few aren't Vectors, and some aren't even logos full stop! Perhaps people should actually read the contest description before insulting the CH with their rushed together jobs. If you're careless enough to not read the guidelines, honestly, you're bringing whatever negative feedback you get onto yourself. Guys, before you submit a logo, ask yourself: Would you use the logo you designed for your OWN business? How much would YOU pay for the work you're submitting to someone else? IMHO, with the shoddy quality of work being submitted, the CH has every right to be annoyed. I applaud him for calling out greatly sub-standard entrants. - Adrian
I am not asking for a $500 job, I am asking for something which is worth $100, all of the submissions I have received have been of similar standard to the ones in the $10 logo contest I held at the start of the month and even those weren't worth $10. Would any of you really pay $100 for these designs? really? I am a designer myself, the reason I chose to offer this in a contest with a reasonable prize is I thought you so called professionals would have some better ideas and a better standard than myself but I can do something better than all of the submissions, maybe I should start offering my services in contests such as this?! I mean come on, colouring a piece of text and sticking a cat on it (which isn't even a good cat tbh, just a few circles peiced together) or following some basic web2.0 tutorial on shiny text is really worth $100 these days? I would be embarrassed to use these and actually brand my business like that, I am not a child, targetting children so why should my business look like its been designed by one. And please read the requirements, I need something that will look good in black and white and on print, this would suggest WEB 2.0 reflections and shiny text are not in the running. You dont know what to put on the logo? Well thats more from your lack of design and innovation skills than my fault, especially as there is such a wide range of things you could use for a fashion and beauty related website but you all started copying each other with the sillouettes, if you looked back on my last contest you would see what I thought of the submissions. Why would you think a grungey dark logo would fit the site and business? Its fashion, catwalk style fashion, not emo or gothic fashion. I asked for something that would wow me and my team, none of your submissions have been anything special, memorable or brandable. None of them stand out, look any different from any other web 2.0 piece of text, yes TEXT, that's all most of you have done, coloured in a piece of text then stuck a pre made shape to the side with no thought for my requirements. I am worried about other more naive people that you lot cast your supposed expertise on. If I am so out of line dont bother submitting anymore entries and I will go to a real designer.
Having seen Vebtools winning past contests, I know his entry will be great. Here's my CONCEPTS: It's 43 degrees celsius here and I can't be bothered working any further on it for an unguaranteed reward, at least until my mood improves. If you like the ideas, PM me and we can take it further. - Adrian
Someone who writes so little in their description, seems to find it easier to flame work submitted by people who have spent their own time creating what they think is a good design. Ok - maybe you don't like what has been submitted and a little frustrated repeating yourself that you don't like silhouettes, but to be so rude and arrogant is beyond my belief. You came here looking for a logo for one reason... it's cheap! If you want more professional, more expensive looking... more "wow" then I suggest you go some place else like 99Designs. But I wouldn't offer just $100 because you won't get many entrants.
Maybe because of the word "chaos"? And as a designer yourself, you must know that we are not mind readers and need your feedback and input in order to develop this for you.
