Contest $100 Logo Contest - payment via PayPal (deadline 5 July)

Dear all,

Happy with the outcome from the previous $100 logo contest, the client would like a logo for a new business.

Business Name: IVF Birmingham

Tagline: IVF Birmingham: your fertility companion (may or may not be incorporated in the logo)

Business Type: Informative website for fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Target Audience: Couples suffering from infertility.

Style: Modern and sharp to reflect the values of the informative website (!important):

• Credible information from fertility experts
• Egg, sperm and IVF technology
• Successful

Colors: Royal blue primarily with other shades of blue as required

HINT: Incorporating a technical aspect of the fertility treatments (ie: injecting an egg with sperm - google: ICSI) would make a positive impact.

Height/width ratio: 1:2-3 ideally, but not a must.

Deadline: 5th of July (2018)

Payment: $100 USD via PayPal

Deliverables: Vector file (.ai, .eps, .psd)

Winner: I'll announce a winner after the deadline listed above, however I reserve the right not to pick a winner if there is nothing my client feels suits.

Thank you all for the entries so far.

The general feedback is that this logo needs to be more complex and more technical.
The icons should not be 'cartoon'-like as it will be a website with important medical information and it requires professionalism. No eyes on sperm/egg, no big head small tail sperm (that is a medical condition actually), please stick to proportions (see sperm).

The logo will be displayed against a dark background (#08326e) so combinations of #269cd0 and white will look well. An acceptable colour scheme and complexity can be seen in the winner chosen from the previous contest. Additional colours (instead of the orange) are welcome (ie: #b63e97). Note: we look for a different concept so no shield or standard general medical signs.

Given the shape of eggs and (head of) sperm it may be more appropriate to chose rounded shapes/concepts rather than rectangular. The 'embracing' concept touched on by @galalogo 's first entry is attractive; however, the idea of mother holding baby can be made more obvious.

Please work it a bit more, don't look for a quick sketch as it is unlikely to win.
A possible idea would be to link the sperm-egg icon to the mother-baby concept, suggesting the path from fertilization to motherhood.

Dear all,
Thank you for the entries so far. I had a meeting with the client today and we discussed each individual entry.

The most attractive so far (as feel and concept) is @logos4all 's entry #17 (the purple version attached). This can be improved significantly to establish its position as a potential winner as follows:

1. keep only 1 sperm, remove the one on the left
2. increase the size of the sperm on the right (x3)
3. test a new version with sperm coloured in orange (in addition to a version in white), aiming for a 'stand out' effect similar to previous winner.
   
4. replace the purple circle's colour with #62206a
5. remove the space between IVF and BIRMINGHAM and colour IVF in the light blue you used in the version above
6. use the same light blue for 'your fertility companion' (tagline) instead of purple and slightly increase the font size for the tagline.
   
7. try a slightly more modern font style

Brief feedback for the other entries:
#2: first version misses the human touch, but second version much more attractive (in top 3)
#3: misses the human touch, too simple
#4: far too simple x2
#5: cartoon style inappropriate for the topic
#6: misses the human touch, has nothing to stand out
#7: too simple
#8: too simple
#10: not bad, but more appropriate for an established pregnancy website / ultrasound etc, rather than infertility
#11: this was quite good, adequate 'human feeling', made it in top 3
#12: does not stand out
#13: not bad, nice mixture of shapes, but those 2 sperms don't tell a story
#14: the leaves were good for the previous contest as they symbolise 'education' but they don't fit here
#15: well thought mixture of shapes, but not catchy enough
#16: not bad, but the updated version (#17) has better potential
#18: more suitable for a 'family' organization / NGO
#19: too crowded
