I am looking to get a logo for this search script - http://orbitscripts.com/products/smartppc/search/index.php/home/enable_standart/?query=cars

I will need a logo and some design that matches around the logo for the actual search area (area in orange in demo) and a smaller version of the logo for a results page (see top left of page on this sample - http://orbitscripts.com/products/smartppc/search/search?query=cars&engine=google_web&Search=Search) and finally a favicon to match.

Here is what I am looking for:

    - The name of the site is going to be called - FuseBot with tagline that says, "Fusing Together the Best Search Results on the Web". The idea is a robot is sorting through all the results from other search engines and finding the best for you.

    - I want the logo to look Web 2.0ish. I really like the style of my logo that was done for me for my SEO Blog Traffic Flow SEO which you can check out here - www.trafficflowseo.com.

    - I bought the rights to this image and was hoping to incorporate it somehow (I know this image is a bit retro and I want a Web 2.0ish type look, but I am hoping someone can pull it together) - http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-9460396-toy-tin-robot.php

    - I will pay $100 to the winner upon handing over the vector art and JPGs sized as the demo site I had shown previously.

    Thanks..:)

I like the idea, but I think that I am looking for a bit more Web.20ish. Maybe using red instead of orange and it is going to need to sit on a white background (sorry I did not mention that before).

I like it better, but it still looks too restricted or tight. Did you see the logo on Traffic Flow SEO (www.trafficflowseo.com)? There were elements of life in it that I am just not see here. Your logo is great, but it is too textbook to sterile, it does not have any life or create an emotion.

I do not want to offend your design, but it is not really the direction I want to go. The same designer who did Traffic Flow SEO also did the logo and type treatment for www.icrawl.us search engine which is another logo I really like.

I appreciate everything you have done so far and I do want you to try, but I want to make sure that I am not wasting your time if your designs can't go in this direction. Does that make sense?

I see what your saying, I will try something again.
and do you mean the robot doesn't have "life" or the WHOLE design?

I think it is the design. When you look at the Traffic Flow SEO and iCrawl websites look at how rich the designs are. You could actually look at them for a few moments as they have some depth. It is not as much about the 'trite' use of stop light for Traffic Flow or the use of a magnifying glass for iCrawl (meaning searching or looking) it is really about the gradation, the multi-color use, the small touches that distinguish okay from great.

Maybe another couple examples of a logos I like would help.
    - Infospace - http://search.infospace.com/ispace/ws/index
    - Ask.com - http://www.ask.com/ (I LOVE there ASK.com logo, forget Jeeves)
    - Clusty - http://clusty.com/ (a bit different as it is not Web 2.0ish, but another idea)
    - EntireWeb - http://www.entireweb.com/ (less, Web 2.0ish, but also good)

    Does that help?

I LOVE your enthusiasm, but I think you are taking it to literal. It looks like it is trying to hard. It is not about copying elements of other logos to make a new one, it is about creating a completely new one with it's own look and feel. I apologize, but I think what I want and your talented designs are just not going to be a good match.

If you want to try again, please feel free to. Here are some more examples of Web 2.0ish logos I think are good:

I like where you are going and the idea of the search in progress on the chest of the robot, but it looks a little too cute to me. I do like how you did not use the image exactly and some of the gradient, but the Fusebot does not pop enough. I think the focus is on the wording and the logo is a secondary element to reinforce it. Does that make sense?

Thank you, but did you get a chance to look at the examples of what I was looking for? Most of them used outlines around copy and looked a bit more Web 2.0ish. Also, I am not sure what that is above the name (maybe the robot's arm?). Finally, I cannot read the tagline at all, it just blends into the background.

I appreciate the effort, but what I am looking for is a lot different then the direction you are going in. What I am saying is please feel free to submit any additional designs if you like, but it is not worth your time or effort to modify this one.

I did really like the concept where you incorporated the T in the robot's body.

    Thanks...:)

I actually like the type treatment a lot better. Let's ditch the robot image even though I thought it might work, it just is not. What else could we do to create some graphic representation to add to the type treatment? I am open to your ideas. Again I do like the type treatment, so do not change it....:)

What if we remove the robot and try some other Web 2.0ish iconography (that matches the type treatment)?
