I think you are misunderstanding me a little when I say to blend the images better. I don't mean put them closer together, I just mean to maybe try different images that work together nicely and maybe put them in different positions. I really like the text in yours, but maybe try some different things with the text and try and make it a bit more simple. Thanks!

 

I think it looks pretty cool, but it is a bit too cartoon like and doesn't really look like it would be good for a business to be taken seriously. You could try to have just the writing on one line, then a simple image to the left of it if you want to try again, as the font looks pretty good.

the references you mentioned in the brief are all complex styles (rock band style with lots of different type of elements put together that really don't go together) that's modern grungy style.

This one is very cool! I like it a lot. The only thing I am a little worried is how it would look on a business card a header of a website or letterhead since the design is so tall. I need to think a bit more about this one, or is there any way you can try and make it a bit shorter while keeping the font around the same size? One thing I was thinking was maybe you keep the image on the left but make it smaller and add the text to the right of it (just an idea, not sure how that would be)

 

I like the first one the best of those two. The things I don't like are all the long curvy things coming off of the picture and if you could make the bottom part a bit shorter dropping the text a bit so it is clearly readable. Much better though.

 

Thanks for the feedback, I was worried that it was too tall myself and I actually shortened the guitar so that it would fit but I'll try to lay it out a couple of different ways and then repost. Thanks again.

My design was actually pretty tricky to shorten but I've included a "ghosted" image to show you before and after. Please let me know if you feel it's too long though and I'll try to work on it some more. Thanks.

Thanks for your entries. Sorry for the delay in feedback (this weekend has been crazy so far). I will cut off all entries at midnight tonight. Tomorrow I will go over all the designs and give the chance to some to either adjust their current design or resubmit a new entry. Will post more details tomorrow.
