I don't think it this that he means, at least not what I understood by reading it. I think he means that if keyword is competitive it is too hard to get traffic from the SERPs and AdWords should be bought as an alternative solution. At least until the site is enough establish to be able to tamper with the big guys.
I saw this post a few days back and reviewed the link at that time. For me, it warrants a weekly read. Great post, thanks.
As a new learner I appreciate the info. Maybe I can figure out why my site has dropped to a 4 page rank. Carol
Sweet: Thanks for the list, Fairly well known stuff but I like it all in one place, I will use it as a check list. BIGBOB
Thank you all so much for all the positive feedback. I DID put some time into this. "I think he means that if keyword is competitive it is too hard to get traffic from the SERPs and AdWords should be bought as an alternative solution." Yes, exactly. Sorry I wasn't more clear - I have fixed that today. Now if I could just get SEO Ad Links to appear. Ha-ha. It seems that there is always another step, to fix the "unknown" factor! There are other thoughts I have about ranking, but I am keeping them to myself. I wanted this page to reflect ONLY what MULTIPLE others have stated in forums. I feel that anecdotal evidence is powerful. When you hear the same story repeatedly, there is a high probability there is at least SOME truth to the story. And even if there is NO truth to the story, at least you have considered the possibility, and eliminated it.
Hi Surf_Dude, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work. I am regularly referring to your list in forums and link to it from high PR pages. I am planning to soon set up a real SEO FAQ "by webmasters for webmasters" in some weeks. I already have the domain, SEOFAQ.net. The idea is that anyone can give their answer and get rewarded with name and link to own site below their answer. Maybe we could do some cooperation on this? I can contact you later on. EDIT: Post number 100!
