Is that per month because that's nothing for a website and paying $20 a month or more is insane just for 500 gb of bandwidth.
but who is that with.if they have great feedback and excellent customer service and up time ..money is not matter as you do not pay a host to have your website down. Now do you? i'd rather pay more money for a good hoster then pay say 2$$ a month for a person that has a reseller account and hes downtime is 95% and hes up time is 5% So think of it that way?
"just" 500 GB of bandwidth? I can guarantee you that you will probably never even use a quarter of it unless you have some kind of authority site. $20 is dirt cheap, too - almost suspiciously low.
True, if the OP had a site that used that much bandwidth then they would understand that 100gb is per month, so i dont think you'll need that much.
Hostgator rules!!! That's all I have to say. Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains with an easy to use interface. Their support is mind blowing as well. The few times I've had a problem hostgator sorted it out in under a minute.
Careful! Remember, there is no such thing as "unlimited" They are metering other factors like inodes...so, technically the "unlimited bandwidth" thing is a cross between creative marketing & pure BS.
i host sites with THOUSANDS of users a day visiting and i guarentee 500gb of bandwidth is hard to use. Unless your streaming media etc
You ever tried using either 'unlimited' bw or 'unlimited' diskspace? Because if you do they'll find some excuse to throw you off; usually 'cpu usage'. I did some tests with them where I took care not to use CPU power but on the one occasion a lot of BW and on the other a lost of diskspace, without looking suspicious; I got suspended for CPU overuse. I call that lying and dishonest product claims.
Very true. as an ex reseller for HG I can assure you that it is pure BS. They will get you on the Excessive resouces usage clause.
500gb a month should be more than enough in most cases. Unless you have a huge forum with a lot of users, a popular video sharing site, or a popular social networking site, you wouldn't come close to the limit.
Based on my experience, when your site needed more than 500GB/month,you will need at least VPS coz shared host will ban you due to resources hogging.
