LOL. I created that brain graphic from scractch. Does it look like I take it from somewhere else? Anyway, I don't use other people's graphic on my logos. It's against my principles. If this contest is still on until tomorrow I might try something else with the brain.
nwsn3 - thanks for the offering, but IMO the graphic doesn't have a clean polished look. The font also doesn't match the graphic. IM3D - That's a great submission. It's got excellent clean lines, simple graphics and professional appeal. While I think I still prefer envisionIT's logo for it's whimsical nature, yours is very close. Perhaps with a little tweaking? My suggestion would be to work with font somewhat to make it more fitting with the theme. The font, logo and star-behind-the-logo combination currently has a kind of "SEE THE AMAZING MIND READER" look to it. Perhaps also an arched eyebrow and/or face somewhat on a profile might help lighten the appeal? scorpion - sorry but even with the various revisions, the logo just isn't for me. You're certainly talented, but the imagery is far too graphic and scary instead of deviously happy, so I'm afraid my suggestion is to move away from this model completely. The contest ends Friday, almost a whole week left. If you care to take another stab at it in a completely different direction, I'd suggest you re-read the original instructions and look at some of sample pictures I posted for inspiration. Also keep in mind that clean and simple almost always wins.
Yeah it is a very scary design lol, I felt like i'd stepped into a horror movie just then!! Great work though!
Shortened up the face, replaced old brain with pink, fixed the smile, and added a 'jagged' exit for the mind.
Thanks for the complements, I did get a little carried away with it. I just started playing with my new Graphics Tablet along with my Vector Graphics software & I kinda floated away in a far off world while designing it I'm glad you stopped me though, another day or so & I would of had a full scene going I Love this Tablet, it makes freehand so much easier than with that darned restricting Mouse. Thanks again for the kind words & Good luck to everyone!
Concept #7 - Ok, I went a totally different direction with this concept, this time keeping it clean & simple. - Feedback Appreciated -
Scorpion, can I suggest you try to model after envisionIT and im3d's attempts? Specifically, the technique of using thick lines on a simple graphic, as well as sizing the graphic well vs the size of the font used. As well, "fun" can be demonstrating using a bright color. Best is the combination of a bright color group, with a smile. Make the eyes devious, and the smile happy. Reminder to all. Contest ends this Friday - so lots of time to submit your attempts and revisions. I'll be offering tons of feedback all week.
Logo Proposition for JAGGED MIND MEDIA ..............................................................
Hey - some great new submissions! IM3D - Nice and clean. I'm still not sure the brain/head combo matches the look we're going for... but it does look good. We'll pick the winner by voting around the office, and some really like yours, so no complaints. The wavy font might not translate well when resized down though. Feel free to keep trying if you wish. Coolwanz - Like the last contest, nice and clean. I do have suggestions though. The logo is a little undersized compared to the text. As well, the font + color used is attractive but comes across as maybe a little too fun and not edgy enough. Hope that makes sense. Finally, perhaps remove a little bit of details in the face, make it a little more non-descript, even more cartoony. The face is almost TOO good as is and the small details won't translate well if the logo is used in a small size. Take a peek at the face in the Liquid Generation logo to hopefully understand what I mean by more cartoony with less details. Can the the brain be shown with less dark details generally (again the resizing problem) but somehow clearly differential the 2 sides of the brain? That might stand out more when resized down. As is, I did resize it down and the effect is that of a head of hair, not a brain. All in all though, it's an excellent attempt. eRIO - I love the devious look, but the star shape, unpolished look, and font make it all come out as a bit immature. You did a great job capturing the spirit though. If you could capture it on a brain, or in a head with a brain like others, in a crisp graphic, that would be great.
