I have a few websites that gather about 100 emails a day of people who are looking for jobs. I think I have about 2000 emails to date. 1. should I run a newsletter out to these people 2. should I sell this list to a marketer who is interested? is so what is the rate per every 100 emails? 3. should I try to monetize? if so what are your suggestions? thanks,
Tip #1 = Always make sure your email list keeps getting updates from you. This way, when you've got something for them to buy they actually know and recognise who you are. Top #2 = Don't sell off parts of your email list. Ever. It can make you some serious cash if you sell it as the complete bundle once you have maybe 10,000+ emails at the end of it all. Also, you may get SPAM complaints if you sell off parts of the list as the email signups didnt opt-in for that, they want to be on that list - not someone elses. Tip #3 Always try and sell whatever you can to your list. The more they get used to buying and the more money you make will not only give you some inital revenue, but also if you decide to sell the list later, you've got some pretty useful stats to persuade buyers with. start sending them tips about how to find a job - where to look or how to network for a job etc... Don't inundate them with emails, though, just once a week. Then after you have gained their trust you might try selling to them. Perhaps an ebook on writing a resume or on how to make a good impression in an interview? That sounds like a lot of email signups a day!
Like cashcow suggested, there might be some job-finding related information products that you can promote.
