I've been wondering which would be better. Should I take $100 and pay a certain amount of people to do something for me (really generic) Or would it be better to take that $100 and have maybe more people do it for free but whoever does it the best wins $100. i.e if I wanted to boost hits to my video on youtube or something I could say "funniest post on the youtube video wins $100) the whole point being that I gain posts on the video or should I just pay $100 to a group of people to just post funny messages and then they each earn $10 or something. Ideas?
Contests work best, especially if it's really "easy" to win, if you get lots of participants this will work best for you. (however you have to market the contest well).
A contest is a little hit or miss. If it goes off well you will get more than your one hundred dollars with it. If it does not you could possibly have to pay out a hundred bucks for work that is not worth it. So, it depends on your position. Is the contest worth the risk, or should you go the safe way and hire the work out? Both have risks, but it ultimately comes down to your decision. Shannon
Hmmm...perhaps a small experiment, maybe do lots of smaller contests that roughly have the same value of work as the $100, maybe not even use as much money.
As 8everything said: if it's easy to win AND you can get people's attention (know where to promote your contest), then you can have a winner.
