$100 contest for a shop front banner for a hair and nail salon

You just said you "submitted a piece of work." Im sorry but if ur using a copyrighted image, i dont believe its your work. Maybe a presentation of what your banner COULD look like once you take the picture. And no, im not argueing.. just stating an opinion. (and technically u cant win with copyrighted material... its in the rules, so you may want to take that picture fast)

 

The color can be change to your preference as seen above.

The logo is also the pattern in the background.

there i've gotten a stock photo. Now it's perfectly legal, and qualified for this contest.

wow. I cant believe you were acually going to try and get away with that. I sure hope your new one really is a stock photo, cause now ur on the edge. Clients want their work original.

 

i never said that was my photo.. and if you didnt read good, or understand what i've said.. it was an EXAMPLE picture.. it was going to be changed.. but im new here and i didnt knowyou had to submit ORIGINALS, like final work.. but i got a new picture, this picture came in a CD i have from a MAG. So i hope this one satisfies you.. sorry for the inconvenience.

Probably not since it was on a CD from a MAG. That means that its a photo taken by someone else. The only way its copyright free is if you paid for it on a photo stock site or you took it yourself. Also the layout is not even original because you basically took the idea of that one and flipped the text a bit and changed the font. So its not even an original layout. I think that would not be considered original in any way shape or form.

 

omg i bought the magazine.. and it came with a cd of 1,000 stock images...

can you please announce the winner... this is giving me a headache..

there was 2 versions of the magazines... there is one without stock images on a CD which was for only $12.99.. and the one with the cd WITH the STOCK images which u can use, and have permission on using were for $19.99.. ill take the picture of the magazine and the cd if you want.. jesus christ.

No need for pictures.. just provide the name and date of that magazine. (that way if the contest holder does choose you, they can be assured its legit) But i can assure you 100% that you will NEVER be able to buy 1,000 stock images for $7. One stock image alone can cost up to hundreds. Besides... if it was given to you on a cd from a magzine..... than hundreds of other people also have the same cd.

[and the fact that u never claimed it was ur photo is beyond the point. If no one was to of pointed it out... the contest holder would never have known... and could have been up for law-suit]

I dont even see the reason to put a real life picture on a banner unless the acuall salon has ownership of it and can use it on all their labels and products.

This may be a website that provides minors or un-expirenced graphic designers as well as proffesionals access to money... but you still have to follow the rules of the real world.

due to all the posts about copyright images for the photos, i do need a legit piece of work as this will be used for branding. i am new to all this and i appreciate you guys letting me know about stock photos etc. really appreciate it
so there are a lot of designs i really like but i still like raygfx's one, however i do need to see a final copy with an original photo before i part with the money. so the winner is raygfx!

Congrats Ray, but personally i feel it was a bad choice as there are several people who think even your design wasn't 100% original. I personally would never choose someone with a -1 iTrader, but congrats.
