I had a Bloger blog with great succes and in my research decided to switch to wordpress with my own domain. I had someone through Elance configure everything and thought all was good. I was wrong. Prior to moving to wordpress and self hosting we had a fantastic average time on site of 8-12 munites. Now our blog is being found in google search however the bounce rate is really close to 100%. No one is spending time on the site which leads me to believe there is a huge technical/coding error. Can someone please try to shed some light as to what could be wrong? Our blog is http://thecloseoutindustry.com I would be very greatful as I am loosing my mind
Site looks good and interesting to me. Dont know about the education keyword, I live in UK but education is normally a word associated with school, college, or university, not really a term we would use for gaining information or learning about a subject. It might be worth adding google analytics and seeing what the stats say. Overall I think the site looks great, might need a bit of work on title, and your Header tags, seems like you have loads of H2 tags, I cant see H1 or H3. Good luck.
Thank you very much for your time. I do have anyalytics intergrated and it shoes zero time on site by most if not all visitors. There was a question someone brought up about the anylytics code. we have it in the head section and another person told me it should be in the body? any ideas? I just cannot see why now no one spends time on the site becuase we do have lots of topic rich content
Your Blog site is pretty good... But I suggest you to add some images related to your articles... I guess that would help your site look enticing combined with your effective contents...
We generally recommend that you place the Google Analytics tracking code immediately before the closing </body> tag of your pages in order to avoid any issues with page loading delays for visitors with slow connection speeds.
you need to check on the bouncing rate stat of keyword phrases. Maybe your google visitor is not looking for your specific site.
