Everyone who can't load the website, but wanted to enter, please check back to this thread whenever possible for updates. Also try refreshing the page a few times like Mitcharr did.
Ok, we've emailed namecheap, because apparently there was a problem with the domain. I'll update you on that, and if it goes on much longer then I'll extend the deadline. Thanks for your patience. -Hecky.
The problem has been fixed, so all those who were going to enter, I would ask you to try again. Thanks, -Hecky.
I entered this contest and wrote a post on my blog. First link in my signature. Great site BTW. Thanks for the opportunity. It was a fun post.
Hecky; When you sold your original MySticky.net website to me, you indicated that you would not create a similar site. You also said you were unable to sign anything to that effect because of your age. I bought MySticky.net from you in good faith, invested in my own updates and now you have gone back on your word and relaunched the original concept under a new domain. You have made several public complaints about another site, MyStickyz.com, copying the original MySticky.net concept but what you have done now is far worse. How many times do you expect to sell the same concept while hiding behind your age by saying you cannot sign anything to prevent you from doing the same thing again? Hopefully your sense of honesty will improve with age.
How much did you pay for the mysticky.net web site? Just wondering as it didn't really seem to have many users as far as i could see? I actually thought Hecky owned both sites, so that is pretty surprising to read. I hope you and Hecky can sort it out once you can contact him again!
I paid reasonable value for the concept, the domain, the small user base and Hecky's word that he would not create another similar site. I invested further in rewriting the original website, adding new features, and moving the site to a more reliable host. It is complicated by the fact that Hecky paid a programmer to write the code and the programmer would not sign off that they would not use the same code for another project. The programmer did provide me with quotes for upgrades and was actively involved in the sale and transfer of the site. Just another "buyer beware" situation. In hindsight, I should have had the programmer sign off that I was new owner of the code that Hecky had paid him to write and that Hecky retained no continuing rights to the code.
I have been speaking to Hecky on msn, he wished for me to relay his response to Gord, regarding issues with the site to help clear it up so the contest can continue. Hecky says he did say this, and this is correct. Hecky says he does not own stickified, his brother paid for it and the agreed to share the profits 50:50, Hecky is helping to market it. Hecky says the the coder didnt use the same code for this site, and the coder assures him that, and the coder can prove it if neccessary. Hecky's reply : You shouldnt flag me as a bad trader, before you have looked into such things. I am actually annoyed that you have posted this on my thread, when this is an issue for PM. I hope that this does not have an impact on the number of entries I have. Hopefully this helps to clear out these issues, if you have any other issues or questions, can you please contact Hecky on msn or email, and not intrude on his contest thread. Hopefully this contest can continue to run smoothly now.
Ahah, yeah I agree - look into things more before commenting and I often find that I often misunderstand the situation if I don't. I trust Hecky 100% ( because he paid me 20$ for his Guess a number 1-100 20$ contest )
This sticky site is different. The sticky itself is different, and the MySticky site actually has more features than this new site.
Hi I'm back! Sorry I was away, I had a little argument with a mod . However this contest is still running and ends in just a few days. Please get the entries in -Hecky.
