Hello guys, We are looking for a redesign of our company's blog logo "Bunte Steine" on www.mineralium.com/bunte-steine (see above). First some background information: The weblog is part of our webshop dealing in collector minerals, fossils, gems and geological tools (have a look at www.mineralium.com). Our Blog presents a variety of interesting news on mineral specimens, fossils, gem-shows etc. The German title "Bunte Steine" means "Colorful Stones" and refers to a kaleidoscope of information from the world of stones and minerals (besides that the name also refers to the title of a well-known novel by the Austrian writer Adalbert Stifter – but don’t bother about that). The German subtitle "Das Weblog von Mineralium.com" just means "The weblog of Mineralium.com" and should be kept as slogan. Blog Logo Request - Logo-title: Bunte Steine - Subtitle (slogan): Das Weblog von Mineralium.com - Format: PSD - Deadline: 17th of February 2008. Just to let you know: We like our current logo, but still have the feeling that you guys could do better. Complete new logo designs will be welcome, but logo changes (improvements) do not necessarily have to be major changes. Because of subject and title we prefer a colorful design which refers to stones. Postings with different font type alternatives would be nice. Any suggestions for the banner design (the five photos in the header) are also welcome. But at the moment we don’t want to give too many restrictions that could bias your creativity. Anyway, we’ll surely give feedback to indicate the direction we like. We are looking forward to your proposals, so be creative! Please post your proposal here and the winner of the contest will be awarded by 100$ via PayPal! A contest winner is guaranteed! The contest will end on Sunday the 17th of February 2008. Many thanks in advance! Christian & Robert
Hello everyone, Just as a general remark: The background color should preferably remain white and please look that the new logo you design will fit to the total blog concept on http://www.mineralium.com/bunte-steine/ Best wishes, Christian & Robert P.S.: Of course your contribution should be an an improvement to the original logo. So, please take your time...
Hello guys, thank you for your proposals! Currently, I just want to let you know that we used the font "Curlz MT" for our concept. You do not have to use it, but maybe it's a good choice. You have free rein over this. I will give some feedback in time. Best Regards, Robert P.S.: All proposals are welcome!
Hello LoCo, Thank you very much for your entry, but to be honest it is not really what we are looking for. Anyway, we are looking forward to numerous creative and professional designs and wish you (and us) every success with this! Best regards, Christian P.S.: To lend the contestants a hand I will post some more ideas in a few minutes...
Hi Christian, Here is my entry which is a slight play on your existing logo. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Best regards, VictoriaAnn
Hi VictoriaAnn, Thank you very much for your professional looking logo concept! To tell the truth, I'm afraid it's a little bit too much comic style in the face of our blog site. Of course the original design also bases on a fanciful, funny font type, but I like it's quite elegant or stylish character which fits good to the other part of the blog and our mineral webshop. Maybe you can find a lighter or more classical design? Best regards, Christian
Hello again everybody, I promised to help you a hand with some more suggestions and ideas on the redesign of our blog logo. So, here we go: To illustrate the blogs name "Bunte Steine" (which means "Colorful Stones" in English) it would be nice to add some colorful natural stones (perhaps just three) next to or in front of the lettering – maybe with some nice reflections on the white background. To give you an impression of how this stones may look like please search for keywords like "tumbled stones", "rough gems" or "cabochons" in Google Image Search. Other keywords which could help you on the subject are "gems", "gemstones", "crystals", "rocks", "rough stones", "polished stones", "minerals" or "mineral specimens". Have a look at our webshop again (http://www.mineralium.com/) or look at websites on minerals to get some inspiration on the subject concerning beautiful collector stones. My brother had another idea for illustrating the lettering with a nice little graphic or drawing: You could symbolize the blog or weblog with a book or diary with some colorful stones on the cover, representing the meaning of "Bunte Steine". But please note: These are just suggestions to give you some more ideas. If you have other or better ideas in mind, please feel free to realize your own creativity! Thanks for your attention, Christian
Not a problem I like an honest opinion - and one that's constructive is even better! If I get a chance I'll submit something else. Many thanks, VictoriaAnn
