100 backlinks from the same pr 4 site. How will google...

I plan to create 100 backlinks from the same pr 4 site. How will google see it?

Will it see it as 1 backlink since it is from the same site, or will it see it as 100?

Will it do any difference in ranking or is it just the same as having one backlink?

    Thanks for your time

google will not see it as 100 backlinks on 100%.
Yahoo will go it, but google will see it as 1 backlink. So better place your link on the index page and google will catch it (with highest pr)

Yes! Suppose a blog has 10,000 pages and your link is placed at all pages. Google Will treat as a 1 backlink while Yahoo will see it at 10,000 backlinks. One of My Site has 100,000+ backlinks in yahoo while the same site has about 500+ backlinks at google search.

I think they are talking about the link:domain.com query.

Guys, to more accurately check your backlinks, make sure to check the webmaster tools > pages with external links, this will give you a far more accurate view of how google sees links to your pages.

I found Google did show many backlinks from one site. I doubt the 1 backlink treatment of Google (of multiple links from the site to one site) is true

They should count if they are on separate pages. If not, everyone using Squidoo, Hubpages, eZine, USfreeads, etc etc would be really mad :)

I will be trying this. I will try to aim for 1000 backlinks from the same site and see if it does any difference ;)

My belief, though it's hard to be certain, is that it depends how many different sets of anchor text you use for the 100 links.

If you use one set of anchor text, say by putting the same link in to footer of every page on the site, all the links are counted but they aren't all counted as of equal worth. So if you have links from a site with 100 pages, the link on the homepage counts for a lot but you only get a very little bit of link-juice from the links on the other pages. It's only my experience, but I'd say that a sitewide link is worth little more than a single link from the homepage (or rather the highest PR page) of a site.

What is interesting though is to vary the anchor text and see how much benefit you get, say by showing links on 10 pages with anchor text set to one keyword, links on another 10 pages with different anchor text and so on.

Google will see the 100 links just that it won't count as having 100 links from 100 different sites. Sitewide links are great for yahoo and MSN, Google is more advanced and doesn't give too much wait to many links from the same URL but they will count.

Its best to have links from as many domains as possible.

Duplicate links from same domain (like DP forum posts) have little weight but they are counted by Google to some extent, otherwise they wouldn't be listing them at Google Webmaster Tools in the hundreds.

I believe the real issue is whether or not all of those links will pass PR.

Goolge will most likely recognize all IBLs from a given site. However, there are rules that go into effect when calculating PR. Of course, we don't know the detail of those rules but the consenus seems to be that G will pass PR from only a small number of pages, probably the first few pages it found.

finweek and Random guy you both dont understand the concept hes asking about

Google will see it as 100 backlinks and so will yahoo...
Google doesnt just find 1 link and say pfft i dont want to search this site anymore

BUT. What he is asking is, will google treat all 100 links as Powerfull PR 4 Links
The answer to this is proberly NO

And same with Yahoo, Yahoo wont treat all 100 as powerfull as they are

Saying stuff like use siteexplorer isnt accurate, Google webmaster tools doesnt show all links anyway, so theres know reason that just because site exploere lists the links that it means there powerfull

I've got a competitor with closer to 500 back links from a site and they rank well for the keywords.

What can I say? Google says these guys are punished doing this black hat business. But in reality there they are ranking well with mediocre content.

You receive an algorithm boost from having 100 backlinks. You receive an algorithm boost from being linked to by 100 different websites on different ip addresses. These are 2 completely different things.

If you get 100 backlinks from one website, you are not losing out on PR they pass and you're not losing out on credit for receiving 100 backlinks. You're just failing to receive the benefit you would receive from being linked to by 100 different websites (or varying IP addresses).

The 100 backlinks from one website is certainly beneficial, so go for it. You can work on your backlinks from varying websites fairly simply by posting thoughtful comments on different articles, forums and blog sites.
