Good Post, in fact, I do very similar steps as you. But on number four, are you crazy? That's a keyword you would want to rank for. It don't matter if it's 2,000 searches per month. That is still free easy traffic. If I see any keyword like that (competition these days) hanging around, I would tackle it. Not this one though, not my niche. See, if you search and see keywords like the one you showed, don't just skip it, why not create another wp or blogger on the keyword, optimize it, and link it to your money (main) site? Use it as a traffic source. This is a killer method. Use this keyword as your related keyword and drive that traffic to your site.

Another thing I would recommend is to write articles and link it to your site. This helps a lot. I mean a lot. For me, 60% of traffic is coming from articles.

Another thing, when conducting a keyword research, search for buying keywords. Keywords such as 'buy nike shoes now' - nike shoes discounts - OR be specific 'buy nike shox 352' - nike shox 352 discount and etc... These really work. then write articles upon it.

Excellent guide, done a similar thing with EPN but will try with Amazon now..One thing, i use Amazon UK its very difficult finding niche items that have a search of 2000 or more if it is UK you are targeting.
