Hi DP! Been browsing a lot before this but this is my first post here. So please be gentle! Why is it so when my site does 100,000 adsense impressions but am getting only 100s of clicks. Click through rate has been really low. like 0.05 -It is an automotive site/forums/classifieds based on vbulletin. -i've done changes to the template so it displays adsense only to guests which brought the adsense impression down from 200,000 to about 160,000 daily Okay, i've been running adsense for a couple of years now. I have seen better payouts but went downhill end of last year or early this year. Why is this? nothing seems to work really, every other day, i make changes thinking that those may be the key but earnings don't really change. so anyone out there please (especially vbulletin users) do advise me on the best vbulletin + adsense layout! other questions: -have i been smart priced? -if so is it reversible? will it heal over time? -would it help if i disable the ads altogether for some time? -what are other great ad networks i can try to maximize money? Thanks!
how much are you making monthly now? i get 50k impressions a day and only get like 30 clicks, so you are doing better than me.
Perhaps it's the credit crunch, economic downturn, call it what you will. Anyone get a lot more than 0.05
i have a 6.36 ctr since last pay out but in the last 7 days i have had 8.21 but say you are using this ad revenue sharing program on this site and also on your site, not to many webmasters click on ads . . . unless . . . well never mind

You're a forum man. Join the club. Members are ad blind. Explaining how to increase your CTR would be a story in itself...
I run a forum site myself. Not nearly as many impressions but my CTR is right there with you. I hope you find something that works.

You have an issue: People dont go to foruns expecting to find "that ad"... My advice to you is get ride of those Adsense Ads, create a site eg: "bestmaletips" and drive that huge traffic into your new site. Create some banners and place them replacing adsense in forum. At new site place some contextual ads about Ipods, stuff males digg etc etc and earn through there instead of your forum. Just my 2 cents.
Adsense is good but not everyone get the most out of it . If I were at your place and with that amount of imp I better use CPM ad networks like Adbrite . So in this way I do not have to worry about lesser number of ckicks . Maybe the impressions are from your forum members and they are used to the ads now and it will be very rare that they do click on your ads .
guys you really need to learn some placement techniques. I have 1000-1500 page views/daily and get 25/40 clicks from 3 ad places.
