I caught someone pulling a major scam around here. This individual manipulated a way to sell high quality ________ at $20 to $600 a pop. This person has clearly taken every single buyer that dealt with. There itrader is marked over 100 and clearly shows that people have bought into this very scam.

When I told him I caught him. He said "Well don't tell ANYONE", and that was that.

    My question is simple.

    What should I do?

    I. Accept a bribe?
    II. Shut him down?
    III. Let it go?
IV. Tell DP staff in which will get me banned?
    V. Post the screenshots in public where I will get in trouble?

(Please do not ask for personal information. I won't give it.)

I would say tell DP staff, let them have a look at it and if the guy really scammed all the others, they are able to ban him and maybe even prosecute.

At least do something as otherwise more innocent webmasters will get screwed and nobody likes that...

I'm pretty sure this person now knows that you're in two minds, and if they don't want to get caught, then they might slow down their operations, however, how would you feel if it was you that got scammed? We're all part of the same community, and i'm certain i don't want to be scammed, the same with everyone else. Think of it from a moral point of view, if yuo take the bribe, you'd be as bad as them. Ultimately, it's your choice, and you're the one that has to live with the consequences of your choice.

I figure that would be nice, but generally I don't like to the throw something in someone else's hands. Not only that, but due to issues in the past there sometime has been negative effects on working with the staff here. I'm about 30 minutes away to announcing the opening of something that I need to be successful since I've been working on it for months and paying the bills with no profit or achievment. I don't want to risk being pointed at in DP. "Bad timing!! for me"

The worst thing about this is this guy does absolute ripoff deals with people in the masses. Tons and tons of people and its so shafty that I can tell that people only would have a slight suspection in the future.

I've been scammed before, it really sucks. Even with the person stopping on what they are doing, doesn't even matter. The guy already took what half of my house was worth in the past 3 months. The thing is I've been playing honest the whole time and I have never really gotten a my break yet. I've been watching that the ripoff people and manipulators are getting ahead, but I'm pulling 5 hours of work a day to work and pray for the start of a 1,XXX figure.

Maybe being like robinhood and taking the bribe will balance my webmaster career in "fit in" with everyone else. Still, when I offer stuff I really try my best to give the person more than they paid, and I support my clients at full because I want them to be successful and respect me for that.

I just don't know what to do. When I pm-ed him he acted kind of demanding and frightened at the same time. Heck, I could have 300 fans if I shut him down.

Still.......I just don't know yet. Luckily He's not around right now which gives me time to get my announcment going(3 months of work!!!).

Dude, if you come here asking opinions and creating bad moods, better tell us all: name, user id, who he ripped off etc etc And i hope you have some sort of proofs.

Otherwise, don't bother us with this sheeeet. :) We're here to make money, not novels. ;)

Great to hear this. I thought DP is free from Scams. But its part of real digital world.
    My suggestion :
Accept a bribe (in such way that he can't get them back) Take a Snapshot of those all deals, Pm's and open that A$$hole's name (sorry for the bad word) to DP Staff.

But the problem is that He can read this thread !!
How are you guys gonna get the money back ??

You should probably choose option one and accept a bribe.

Seriously, are you really this dumb? You're asking the DigitialPoint community, who you claim are being scammed by someone, if you should take a bribe to cover this whole thing up. Why woud anyone in there right mind suggest taking a bribe.

In fact, if you're that dumb you it probably isn't even a scam.

The problem is, when he sees this, he's going to know that he's got to be careful. And i'm in the same boat too... i work almost every day of the week, and i still try to balance my web master lifestyle too... nobody said being a webmaster would be easy. It's about dedication and the care of your role as the web master. This guy is looking for a shortcut, and why should you succumb to the same tactics? That would make you just as dishonest as he is, and if you were dishonest, then you wouldn't have made this thread in the first place. Just think, do you want to end up like him? The consequences will catch up with him at some point

Its against the rules to mention his name says DP rules. I have absolute proof on, at least, 12 screenshots, and can send anyone to a site which will show its obviousness(that a word?)
Sorry, if your not interested in this topic, then don't post. This isn't a matter of who did it, its a matter of if I should be like robinhood, or be like the guy who just tells him to stop.

DP, free from Scams. Lol, I could make a career in going after people from here. Its not DPs fault. Where there is people there will be scams.
I can't release his name. Its against the rules(mentioned 4 times)

Firstly, you are saying that over 100 DP members have already been scammed by "him" but none of them know it. I thought the people here knew their stuff but your partial expose suggests otherwise. Secondly, talking from the perspective of an amateur quack, I'd say that normally whistle-blowers, blow their whistle (so to speak) anonymously or as quietly as possible - they don't enter into a semi-public debate - I've never seen a thread like this on DP (or anywhere else for that matter).

Then there's the matter of "him" being away and you spilling the beans while you've the chance. What will you do when "he" gets back? Will he be angry? Will he seek to shut you up? Will we ever hear from you again? You seem to be an obsessive poster . . . if you go quiet now, I for one will suspect foul play.

You could always take the bribe, give it to charity, and then turn him in.

Ha, You challenged me. I knew someone would. Firstly, I'm sorry I can't show proof on anything. It must be killing you and others. I have not been scammed by him myself, nor anyone I know(that I noticed). I just stumbled upon this.
    I. OK, ok. I will tell you what this person is doing. They have a mass amount of pr 8,7,6,5 sites and are selling massive priced links and banner spots. Because the PR's are so high, the price is skyrocketed and buyers take it within 30 minutes. Of course the buyer must wait for the pr update and hope that the link has helped. If it doesn't, then they may wait another 3 months just in case, and then who's going to argue in 6 months, right.
Exspecially considering that this person has only been hot for about 4 months. They are simply taking what they can get and it just so happens that its over $100,000 as far as I counted.
The PR is absolutely fake. The site is redirects from another site, which redirects though another. Basically The pr is read by one of the first sites, and then it hits the ending site still saying pr 8 or whatever.

Then he sells 20 links at $$$ to.(plus the other loads of Fake sites)
This dude also never runs out of diff. high pr sites either.

II. I'm not no quack and I'm speaking this because he's gone. I can shut him down regardless of him knowing anything about me or my posting. Its just the matter of I'm happy he's not around because it gives me time to think and do some important business. I'm just wondering how people would deal with the matter? I can do what I want.

III. He is absolutely powerless. I can do what I want. He can't hide it nor shut me up. I'm not worried. I suppose he could pay off a mod to get rid of me if he could find a bad one. I doubt there is any mod that bad, though.

IV. Me? no, I'm a good guy. I've always try to be honest(get in trouble for it sometimes). I'm an ok poster.

    V. You'll hear from me. I've been around since the stone age. Why would I make this up? I'm about ready to announce a huge project of a script I'm going to offer and instead I say "Oh, I should make up something in my other window tab?"

VI. I won't be suckered into revealing who it is because once I do that, a billion of you will know for sure and try to scrub a wack load of cash and then my information is worthless.

Normally I wouldn't bother but the cash this guy got has reached a "Terrorist worth amount"(like my phrase?). $100,000.

Ever did something and then knew you made the wrong desicion and then had to take that loss for the rest of your life.
    This could be the moment.

Me give up the name. (heck no:))

Sounds terrible, but I'd probably take the bribe. I have been scammed so many times it isn't even funny (not webmastering, but other stuff). Honestly you turning him in = no use because he still has money.

I would personally just take the money and then turn him in, so at least you get something out of it :D.

Scammers are normally reported in GC with evidence and are encouraged to report them in a factual manner with emotions caused aside so that other members can see the evidence and not affected by the emotions. To the OP, as and when you feel like reporting you are welcome to report in the GC in the above format. Thread closed as it is nothing more rhetoric and moer rhetoric.
