Hello, I need a more attractive way to layout the content of our auction listing pages. They’re all basically the same just with different content. I'm not sure what to suggest, turning some text into graphics, adding columns of text, changing text, I don't know what to suggest. Just use the first link to redesign so I can get an idea of your work. The other pages are just for reference. Note: Keep in mind my website is in Wordpress. I need to be able to edit any graphics so you must include source files in either Adobe FW, PS, AI. http://www.maierauctions.com/17-34-...-crossroads-savannah-ga-bank-ordered-auction/ (Use this page to redesign) http://www.maierauctions.com/upcoming-auctions/ http://www.maierauctions.com/4-456-...nt-vaughn-drive-alpharetta-ga-public-auction/ http://www.maierauctions.com/1-acre...ghn-drive-alpharetta-ga-bank-ordered-auction/ I know it's the weekend but I need this done fast! Any questions or suggestions?
The theme you are using is called "complexity 2". Your auction pages seem to be set to the "full width setting" which is why they look pretty plain, try setting it to the default page layout and make use of the widgets and your content to create a unique layout. Besides the theme also comes with an huge array different 'theme styles' and widgets and is highly customizable. Making design changes to the site/pages involves tinkering with the php and css files - for which the designer may need access to your admin panel. The theme you are using is in itself highly customizable, I'd suggest trying out the theme's built in customization as well as a more structured content layout before spending money to have the original code of the theme altered.
You DON'T need to have the "original code" of the theme "altered". Everything can take place inside the "content" tag, which is editable through wordpress post/page editor. I believe the contest holder knows and fully aware of what he's asking, that's why he stated "wordpress CONTENT layout". I've done similar work here on DP.
Well, I have a copy of the theme that is why I posted what I did above. This theme is not like others - in that the CSS file that you usually edit to modify the page layout CANNOT be edited from the "post/page editor" that you have mentioned above. The style.css file that is accessible by the editor only contains LINKS to the actual (css) files that control the page layout (there are six of them). These files can only be accessed either by FTP or through the sites cPanel. The theme maker has done this to discourage alterations to the theme layout. Here is a screenshot of the style.css file in the Editor. Please note what you are seeing is the entire "style.css" file. And it is the only css file that can be modified through the Editor. This is not to say the theme cannot be modified - It is just a bit tougher and a lot more tedious than you would normally expect. Hope this helps.
Thank you UniVersifier for the advice on how to alter layout using the built in option within the theme itself. Because of the feedback and lack of submissions I don't think contests was the best place to place this project. I think it might be best to end the contest and just hire someone personally.
