    First note down what you know and what you are good at. Then apply for the jobs belonging to that section or start a thread promoting your services. When I joined, I too earned somewhat similar figure in my first month. DP is a great place however :)

    Drive more traffic to your site and do analyze your site's keywords. Target more on high pay keywords and write more articles with these high pay keywords. Hopefully, you will see some change in your adsense earning.
