Excellent suggestion. To build on your idea-- Instead of sending publishers a copy of the "invoice", they should send a "sale notification" in which you'd see amount made, affiliate, etc. etc.
I really sick of this double charge, It only bring us chargeback. Why Clickbank can not improve this stupid payment?
>>> 5. Make the checks a little thicker and the envelopes a little bigger so you don't accidentally rip the checks when you open the envelopes. I'm always afraid of ripping my check. It's so thin... the envelope is sealed so tightly... and it is so easy to accidentally rip the check. >>> YOU have problems.... add: CB check is not thinner than other checks, actually there is another piece attached to it making it two sheets. also..."the envelope is sealed so tightly".....people....shakes head....
I would suspect it already is a Number 1 affiliate network.... depending on how you define "number 1"
Bumping an old thread here, but for a reason. I'm now involved in the inputs of enhancements to the Clickbank site and have gone over this thread to pick out the most reasonable improvement ideas. Other than my own suggestion, I mostly like #6, #9 from the OP. ClickBank's Development Team is working on my suggestion. As for #6, Clickbank is indeed now working on a client-to-client communication system. More information on this will be available in a few months. But this is something that is indeed coming, although it will take time. As far as #9 goes, it's a good idea, but the reason why it's not implemented is due to the risk of the notifications being mistaken for spam, and as a result Clickbank would face the issue of being put on blacklist. The Development Team have gone to extensive lengths to discuss this issue with various ISPs but unfortunately a resolution has never been met. This is the reason why affiliates would just have to continue checking their ClickBank accounts to retrieve the stats since sending the sales notifications through email puts Clickbank at a tremendous risk for being blacklisted. Feel free to let me know of any further ideas. I will bring them up to the Development Team if I consider them to be worthwhile.
Session99 -- Wow... glad to see someone with some influence is reading... and I appreciate you bumping up the old thread for discussion. Session #99 suggestion -- I like your suggestion to inform publisher of whether or not the sale was made by an affiliate. This would be extremely helpful. #6 -- Glad to hear they're working on a client-to-client communication system. As a publisher, I'd love to send out some free review copies of products and inform my best affiliates of upcoming "sale prices." I don't like to get affiliates upset when I change prices, but my product is seasonal and I do need to adjust prices according to the time-of-year. I'd be happy to respect any affiliates that do not want to hear from publishers...but I suspect that the majority do appreciate opportunities to be "kept in the loop." #9 -- The solution is simple: By default affiliates do not receive notification. If they log into their settings they can turn the "sale notification email" on or off. At the bottom of the email, you put a little note that says: "if you don't want to receive these notifications, click here." Because they have to manually opt-in, the emails won't be mistaken for spam. And if they begin to see it as spammy, they can opt-out easily. Almost every other affiliate program I participate in offers the ability to receive email notification of sales. Double charges -- I'm a little disappointed to hear they're not working on this one. For my product, accidental double charges are fairly common (people hit the reload button) and it leads to some really irate customers. Also, I've read many posts from publishers who say, "most of them don't even notice." I see that as purposely allowing a customer to get ripped off. How hard could it really be to have Clickbank flag a double charge? Thanks for posting, Session99. Clickbank has become my primary source of online income. They're a great company and I appreciate that they help me feed my family, but I feel passionately about many of the suggestions for improvement. I think they can go from great online retailer to an absolutely amazing one! - fireboat (op)
