I've had a lot of success lately using video to market my websites. Of course the key to successful video marketing is to get a ton of views so I've compiled a list of 10 tips to get more views for your video. Hopefully, other people will add their own tips as well. 1. Make a video that doesn’t suck: Nobody wants to waste their time with a crappy video. Respect your viewer’s time and put the necessary effort into your videos so that people will enjoy watching them. 2. Add your video to View4View.com: This is a no brainer. You’re guaranteed to get more views if you sign up and participate in this community. 3. Digg It: Digg.com gets millions of visitors. If your video gets enough diggs to make it to the main page you will get over 100,000 views. But even just a couple diggs will get you some views. Digg yourself and get some friends to digg you too. 4. Bookmark it: Social bookmarking sites are another hidden source of views. Sign up and add your videos to the following sites: http://del.icio.us, http://furl.net, netscape.com, http://reddit.com, 5. Stumble it: Sign up and add your videos to http://www.stumbleupon.com and people might just stumble upon it. 6. Promote Yourself on YouTube: YouTube has a lot of tools to promote your video if you take the time to participate in their community. Join groups, make friends, write comments, and send messages with like-minded video makers. 7. Promote Yourself on MySpace: If you don’t already have one, make a MySpace page and post your videos on it. Join groups of like-minded people and make friends. Plus you can send out bulletins each time you add a new video. 8. Submit your video to more than one place: There are a lot of sites to submit your video, and the more places you put it, the more likely it is to get viewed. Here are some top sites: http://youtube.com, http://metacafe.com, http://revver.com, http://uncutvideo.aol.com, http://vids.myspace.com 9. Email it – make sure you email your friends and family as soon as your release your video. Remember, the key to making your video go viral is to generate as many views as possible in the first hours of its release. 10. Solicit feedback and build an audience: repeat viewers are the best, so ask people to comment on your work and make sure you respond to their comments. If you build a relationship with your viewers then next time you release a video they’ll come back for more.
Another tip you guys might use is to watermark the complete video with your url. That way nobody can steal your video and use it for their own promotion campaigns. And at the end of the video add 10-20 seconds with nothing but a black background (or w/e color you want, although I think black still is better) and your url. Because right after the video you get options to choose from related videos, but this way the viewer sees your url right after your video and is more likely to go to your site.
