Hi ... great tips, which everyone, expert and newbee, alike, should read, often.

You make an interesting point about previous owners of a domain. Is there anyway to find out if the activities of a previous owner(s) are harming my current operation? Google AdSense won't give me an account, for example, and, of course, doesn't actually indicate why not or respond to e-mails asking why not. I wonder if the previous owner(s) were banned, for example.

I recently discovered my site, grubstreet.ca, was previously owned and presumably operational. The discovery was made via http://www.seoquake.com, which reports the domain age to 24 November 2002. I bought the domain 15 May 2006, on the open market, unaware of any previous use. Way Back Machine has a copy of a "watch this site" type of index page in December 2002. A couple of people thought the domain was used by a Toronto book store, for a time.

Anyhow, just wondering if there's a way to find out what I'd like to know about previous use of the domain.

    Thanks.

    google bans automated queries

or frequent queries that 'look' automated.
