Hi, I've been carrying out some experiments and watching the cyber-space for some time. So I decided to sum up what I had found by compiling myths about Google Page Rank. Basically, it is an observation on Page Rank but maybe somebody can use it for their benefit. I would love to see your comments. Cheers!
Great post! I only disagree with point 8 Backlinks are part of algo that effect SERPs. PR is a result of backlinks. Visual indicator. It has nothing to do with algo.
Sam 735, vickyseo, Aryans - thank you for the compliments and reps. Thank you, mightyb. Technically you are right - the PR numerical value of a page is not considered by the algo. I'll review my wording Oh, are there? Mind being more specific or you're just guesstimating?
Hey, I guess it is you blog? I have posted a comment pointing out 4 mistakes. I could have told about a few more, but I think 4 mistakes are enough. guesstimating? I just posted almost 300 words!
Blimey, that's the longest comment I've ever seen (apart from pill ads)! Thank you for your time. I have answered with some considerations.
Excellent article. Pagerank still has importance. You need to be careful though about having too many outbound dofollow links from a page - make the outbound links relevant.
Thanks for sharing It happens that I have also written something interesting about PageRank a few months ago.
I agree with mightyb. From: http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html In other words: The only PageRank that matters is the PageRank of the page linking to you. It is all build up as a voting system, and your pagerank reflects how many votes you got (and the quality of the votes), but it doesn't affect your ranking. You can easily gain a high PageRank with links from not-related sites, but it will only have a smaller affect on your ranking.
my bolding. what twaddle. where did you get these "other words" exactly? where does it say "the only pagerank that matters..." ? ..thats like saying it doesnt matter how much electricity flows through you when you touch the live wire, only what voltage the wire is at.
