I started a club for the purpose of allowing club members to buy domains at wholesale prices. I need a logo to replace the default logo on the website. The URL will be: http://www.ourdomainclub.com Note: This URL may not be live yet in your location so you can click here to access the "back door" for the website. Prize will be awarded to the first person to submit an acceptable entry. Requirements: Your own content (nothing stolen) Creative but still easy to read Feel free to submit the design in any stage. I will be happy to provide feedback (and award the winner) based upon simple mockups. Contest Rules: No copyrighted images. Please post submissions in this thread. Prize will be awarded to the first person to submit an acceptable entry. Winner will be paid via paypal upon delivery of layered PSD file via email. All rights to image will be transferred to me upon payment. Let me know if you have any questions. THANKS PS--The $12.00 pricing advertised on the main site is for non-members. To view club member pricing, click here. More will come about this opportunity in the upcoming days. Watch for my future threads!
coolwanz is the winner! PM sent to you Feedback: dancam: This and your other design were tied for #2. I really thought the logo was professional but wasn't quite sure it gave me the look I was wanting. It looked like a generic logo included in one of those logo design packages that can be purchased. swaymedia: The image looked decent, however, I don't think it was logo-quality. The design may have been better for buttons on the page or sub-topics. The font used was very thin and won't capture the attention of the viewer. Also, the tagline and URL, are so small that it is hardly readable. Ross860: This was a very good design but wasn't quite professional enough for what I was looking for. One big reason is that it would be very expensive to reproduce this logo offline. I don't have plans to do that at the moment, but you never know about the future. This may have been good for a sales page header, but not a logo. elusid: Your logo is better than you give yourself credit for! I liked that the top lettering had some design to it. I really helped the logo stand out. What turned me off was the "fancy" font. Most logos are very clear and easy to read on first glance as this helps the viewer recognize and hopefully remember the logo for the future. The separator line may be good for some people but something like this is incredibly difficult to reproduce offline. Even an average laser printer wouldn't produce this quite the way it needs to be to be "professional". Lastly the URL font looks like courier new. It looks like a font that should be for some sort of computer code. A bit amateurish. You're still in the running to be a good designer...just not there yet. I would suggest entering in more contests and PMing the OP and asking for detailed feedback. Also, reading some marketing books will certainly give you an edge over the other designers as most of the designers on here don't have any clue what a real non-web-only logo needs. coolwanz: The reason you won was simple. You created a logo that can be vectorized and used for offline resources should that need ever desire. Also you created a logo that can be brandable! That is very hard to do with "domains" being in the URL. I'm extremely impressed. If this turned out to be something talked about often, people could simply refer to my site as "ODB" which is very easy to remember. THANKS dancam (#2): My above comments apply to this logo as well. My only additional thought here is that the logo is a bit hard on my eyes when looking at it. The logo is so busy that even though my eyes are drawn to the entire image, the design itself is what a viewer will remember---not the name of my website. Rep added to those that submitted quality entries (all of you this time )
