I agree it looks nice but it's confusing. Trees, nature etc. are all natural and unpolished, that text has a reflection which tells the viewer (in my opinion) that it's technology related instead of a plant. Also orange is the dominant color and orange does not convey anything to do with health or nature.
Sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk and I'm nobody to give advice but design is the art of communication and that looks like it's selling an eco-friendly car instead of something that grows from the ground. Maybe try changing the orange to blue? I think that would help, but like I said I'm nobody to give advice.

I understand what you are saying, and can appreciate your thoughts but personally I'm not into cliche' design as with most entries in this contest. Most look like garden nursery or landscaping logos, not a product logo.
Sure, if the OP is intending on selling entire Jiaogulan plants in pots with dirt, then it's a different situation. If however an "extract" for example is on offer, then Jtoms design is on the money.
Orange and green is a very aesthetic combination (not sure how you get car out of it) and on a shelf where other products are on disply, it would stand out alongside all the cliche' garden center type logo products.
Alot of the green designs here look fresh, but shampoo fresh, not edible fresh as the green element in Jtoms design evokes.

In regards to the polished reflection look, it's a concept. From great concepts great logos are formed. Wouldn't be hard to rough it up a bit.

    Personal opinion though I guess.

    Goodluck with the contest bakerbaker.

Sorry, but it has nothing to do with avoiding cliche. If the Target logo was done in green it would make NO sense, it's red because we associate a bullseye with being red and white. Colors have meaning and anybody who's studied even the most basic of design will know this. I'll stop criticizing because I don't want to appear like a d*ck, I'm just trying to help. As it stands anything can be considered a logo but there's a difference between those that are pretty and those that are successful.

I think it's a bit late for that.
Self promotion is one thing, but shooting down other designers to promote your own Garden Center logos is another.

Oh, and thanks for stating the obvious in regards to the "Target" logo. For a second there it almost seemed like you actually knew what you were talking about.

    Cheers

I suggested he make it blue because I thought it would fit perfectly then and then it would be an easy win, that's not what I would call being a dick and that's not what I would call shooting him down.
And you're welcome, you clearly need the obvious stated to you. If someone asked you to do a design for Coke would you design it in pink? That's not cliche is it? What about Pepsi? Should that be red? I'm sure you understand what I'm saying and if you do then you'll know it makes perfect sense. Nice avatar by the way, very original.

haha, yeah ok. Now I think you're being a little bit childish. How can you even ask after the fact what I would of done to a logo that has been in embeded in every humans psyche for years? That's just too rediculous to even comtemplate.
But I guess mr.cliche' would of done the Google logo all blue? Some designers cannot grasp thinking outside the box, they compare their designs to other designs of the same genre' and unfortunately that is their limitations.

Why not just submit your design and get on with it instead telling others what you think they should do like some kind of designer heir apparent. You stated yourself you are in no position to judge.

Anyway, as I stated earlier, goodluck with the contest. It seems Jtoms has got a sale out of the contest, hope you can get your piece of the bowl of rice too Mr. Designer man.

Rediculous? Comtemplate? Cliche' (with an apostrophe??) Embeded? Genre' (with an apostrophe?) Please learn to spell.
I won't reply any further because this topic is flooded enough. I don't know Jtoms or have anything against him/her. You're a funny person though, talking about cliche and thinking outside the box but then your name, avatar and lack of literacy are nothing but cliche. Or maybe you're really bright and I've just pissed you off? Either way... I'm over it. I don't even have anything against you but attacking me with smart-ass remarks was unnecessary and really did you no favors. Then again replying didn't do me any, a wise man doesn't argue with fools or so they say...
