@ft913 My largest concern is that the icon isn't round. It's an odd oval shape, and looks kinda flattened. The internal flames have a nice gradient effect, but it won't look good on printed b/w paper. The fonts used aren't speaking to me either. Thanks for the entry though. @flaminbo Mostly the same issue as above, though the stoke would actually cause the problem. Using a single color of ink, it would be hard to show that the flame actually isn't that thick. Looks decent enough for web use, but just isn't what we're looking for. Thanks though. @Dante777 The icon "look" itself isn't bad at all, love the strokes and such. The issue comes to the gray background (opposed to transparent) and the darker brown stoke on the inside (which wouldn't show on print). Also, It's rather hard to tell that what's inside the circle is fire. At first sight, I saw a mountain. Maybe a better flame icon would help as well. The font choice itself doesn't look too bad, good work there. @DrAmA9UrL I really like the icon, just wish it was round (if you could change it, would help immensely). The font looks like it was sat on honestly, kinda wider than tall and makes it look smashed. That can be worked on though, the icon is the primary key, and you've got a great start there. @Nivedhithan I think yous may be my favorite thus far, and thank you for showcasing all the fonts (it was late last night so I didn't have time to do it myself). The only thing I'd like changed with the icon is the bigger-internal outline of a gray flame, I'd like that removed. The smaller internal gray flame should be transparent like the black part. My only other concern is the size, I can't tell if that;s the reduced size or not. The end result needs to be pretty big, so you may want to address that now. I'm actually going to have to speak with some others about the font choice for the final pick, but thanks again for showing all of them. Fix up the icon and you're definitely one of the contenders. @EmG You keep getting closer each time, but just haven't hit the nail on the head yet. The bottom of the flame needs to touch the bottom of the circle, giving it a "single image" look. The font choice is also a bit off, but as I mentioned above we'll pick our favorite for the finial anyway. Thanks to everyone whose entered so far! This contest runs for slightly under 24 more hours, and if the choice still isn't made we may work with a few of you to perfect the finial design, though we will no longer accept new entries.
@EmG Well, you have the general idea now. If the icon in the circle could be made to fit better (probably scaled up some) it would look fairly decent. As for the font, as I've said, don't worry too much about that yet. Much more interested in getting the icon perfect, I can play with fonts myself if need be @DrAmA9UrL Looks amazing and scales extremely well. We all really like it, if we could get you to grayscale the version you currently have to a single, solid color for the icon so we can see what it would look like, it would be great. We were also wondering what it would look like if you scaled the fire down to keep it contained within the circle (and maybe even just cut some of the top fire off, whichever looks best to you). The font looks alright, but we'll mess with that later
@ft913 Thanks for making it more round - However the internal flame gradient is still there, which I said wouldn't work well on printed materials. @DrAmA9UrL Loving it, if we choose you as the winner, do you have any issue giving us a copy of both versions of the icon? Also, just to double check, you own rights to the flame and have the ability to use it in our logo? We want full rights to the end product, so we need to make sure we have our bases covered (don't want to be sued later on ). I think we've decided on using this font, if you want to see if you can't work something in; http://www.dafont.com/kiralynn.font?nb_ppp=50&text=Burn+Parliament - keep in mind the tag line doesn't have to use that font (it may get messy as it gets smaller anyway). Just to clear the air, at this point we are only seriously considering entries from Nivedhithan and DrAmA9UrL. At this time we've decided not to accept new entries either, limiting it to a battle between these two (we're ready to pay as soon as someone gets it perfect ).
Size of Actual Icon: Full image size is 1296*288 This is only a smaller preview: EDIT: Added Better Quality Icon:
yes i do have rights to the fire image i bought it,yes i will give you both versions http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/9563/rev4.png
@EmG, Dante777 although both versions of your logos are looking better, at this point we are only considering entries from Nivedhithan and DrAmA9UrL as previously stated. Thanks. @Nivedhithan Looking good, not much to improve on. Can we see a bigger version of the icon? We need to know that it looks good at larger sizes as well @DrAmA9UrL Looks amazing, both versions do. If you could update the font to this; http://www.dafont.com/kiralynn.font?nb_ppp=50&text=Burn+Parliament so we could see what it looks like next to the logo, it would be awesome.
lol man I didnt see that post, if you look at the timing last night me and you posted at the same time. xD
that is the KiraLynn font choice, maybe its because of the stroke that its hard to see that it is , im going to double check right now
@DrAmA9UrL Fair point, it is that font just with a stoke. If you could remove that stroke, I think you're good to go. We'll wait to see if Nivedhithan has a bigger copy of the icon before making the choice, although that right there could determine the winner.
http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/9905/finalexample.png had a gradient on and drop shadow, so this is just a solid color hope you like it!
Alright guys, a decision will be made sometime tomorrow, and we will definitely be ready for payment by this time tomorrow (though it should be earlier). We need to let all our staff weight in on the choice, which causes the slight delay. Thanks for understanding
