10 High Value Job Sites, Aged, Very Profitable Sector

Discussion in 'Sites' started by Merkersarl, Mar 2, 2007.

  1. #1
    - Premium Domains
    - Aged (some going way back into the last century)
    - Great reputation with search engines
    - All have PR 4-5

    You can buy everything for a site, links, traffic, development, scripts, images, Digg frontpages, everything except age

    This network of IT recruitment sites is for sale by owner. (But, please read the notes at the end of this listing). The value lies largely in the quality of the domain names and their age/reputation.

    As search engines crawl and index pages on these forums I have obscured the URLs below. Sorry. But simply remove the number in each line and what's left is the domain. Or you can see the full list properly here.

    1coboljobs - established 1997, PR 4, DMOZ listed.
    2databasejobs - est 1997, PR 4
    3delphijobs - est 1998, PR 4
    4erpjobs - est 2001, PR 4
    5powerbuilderjobs - est 1997, PR 4, DMOZ listed.
    6visualbasicjobs - est 1997, PR 4
    7webprogrammingjobs - est 1998, PR 4
    8purepowersites - est 1999, PR 5
    9lanjobs - est 1997, PR 4
    10lotusnotesjobs - est 1997, PR 5

    OK, the quality of the domains is obvious. That they are old is not in dispute. In fact, there are hardly any recruitment sites that go back so far in time. And that's good news because it means reputation. Try "Cob*l jobs" in Google, for example, even without the quotes, and see who's at #1. The same applies for the others as far as I have checked. IT recruitment is a very competitive field. Are you in IT recruitment? Are you spending hundreds of thousands in PPC campaigns? Buying this network of reputed sites gives you not just targeted visitors but some kick-ass backlink opportunities.

    ==Traffic==

    These sites get a combined total of about 7,000 visitors a month (estimated). The sites aren't being sold on the volume of traffic they're attracting so detailed stats haven't been provided. Interested parties are welcome to discuss this by email and I'll go out of my way to dig out what they seem interested in. The visitors who are coming here, though, are highly targeted employers and job seekers.

    ==Earnings==

    A few hundred dollars a year (or low xxxx) in a combination of Adsense and recuiters paying to list their job opportunities. Nothing's been done on the site for years and these companies advertising positions are those who've been there for a long time. The sites haven't been promoted or advertised for the last few years. Even just sending lapsed employers a reminder email may get earnings shooting up rapidly. This network of sites is being sold more on the value of the domains and their age than on the strength of earnings so no screen shots of earnings provided. Interested parties can get that by email if it's important to them.

    ==Reserve etc==

    This sale is listed in multiple places like Sitepoint, and elsewhere, and the seller may choose not to sell if the bidding is not very encouraging.

    ==Payment==

    No Paypal, no installments, no partnerships. I've sold in excess of a quarter of a million dollars worth of sites here and elsewhere (my back threads here alone should show about $60-70,000) so you know you're dealing with a professional seller. References on request or you could track down the people I've had $xx,xxx dealings with - every single one of them will recommend me highly. Payment by escrow.com only with a 50-50 split on the fees.

    ==Reason for sale==

    No time to manage them. These are premium domains and the obvious neglect over the past few years has been just money down the drain. They could have been earning a lot of money. Recruitment is a hot sector, IT recruitment is even hotter. A new owner with ideas is what the sites need.

    To deter the rubberneckers all parties interested in getting more info/stats/earnings etc., would be required to sign an NDA and provide their home address and telephone number in the contract.

    Signing the NDA is not a prequisite for bidding - so feel free to bid away.

    ==Important==

    The seller MAY be willing to split the portfolio depending on what kind of price he gets offered for the domain/s people are interested in. Please send an email as requested above.

    There have already been three enquiries about splitting the portfolio.

    The sale is really for the whole portfolio but many people have emailed about selling the domains separately and it looks like the sale may raise more that way. If there's a particular domain you're interested in please email with your offer.

    I didn't realise it before but the contact page is a PR6 (if anyone here is interested in PR)

    No I didn't.

    I just don't like all this hidden pm stuff. Put out the price you are looking for so that everyone can see at the same time. I have seen things before in the past where some people say they have a pm with an offer of say $100. Then after nobody else bids that high, they come back and say the person backed out and they will take the $75 from the highest bidder that posted publically. I'm not saying that this poster is like that, but why beat around the bush. Post the amount and let us decide to bid or not.

    After reading the entire first post... My starting bid is $1.00

    Ah, so you know he doesn't come here often and specified he prefers questions by email?

    You do know this is an auction?

    You can register your protest by bowing out of the bidding. ;)
