We are creating a war/army-based online game. We are currently setting up a vbulletin forum. The problem is, we do not really have much exposure to army terms. We have configured Usergroups based on Army Ranks, from Second Lieutenant to General of the Armies. However, we need to rewrite the cheesy reputation levels (in VB) to lines that are very relevant to, say, the officers in the Army. But at the same time, it should not be related to (or contradict) the Usergroups they might be in. Plus, the comments need to get better and better as we go down, every step of the way. Would you like to try your hand at the following? User is a notorious idiot User can only hope to improve User has a little shameless behavior in the past User is an unknown quantity at this point User is on a distinguished road User will become famous soon enough User has a spectacular aura about User is a jewel in the rough User is just really nice User is a glorious beacon of light User is a name known to all User is a splendid one to behold User has much to be proud of User has a brilliant future User has a reputation beyond repute The best complete version gets $10 by PayPal. I will tentatively set the deadline 24 hours from the time of this post. Make sure they are relevant, army or war related (but follow a consistent theme), each line is very obviously better and more likable than the one above it. Good luck!
Here's my attempt, maybe playing all those millitaristic games will finally come in handy Killing user in one shot, is a waste of a bullet User is shooting practice for the enemy User is good at shining boots and cleaning guns user is worthy of entering bootcamp User is a good fighter after the enemies are all dead User is good to have around the battlefield User is a soldier in training User gets his first medal User is a hardened veteran User is trustworthy and reliable User is an inspiration to all User is a charismatic hero User is a brilliant leader User is worth dying for User is a living legend User is the pride of the nation
I like it. However, I would like to see a little more class in the choice of words. The group is nicely progressive, but ends up sounding like a...well, a game of the youngsters. I am looking for more refined wordings, fit for, say, a forum where real Army officers and generals meet and talk about matters of national importance. P.S.: Celebrating India's win by staying up late?
You could say that, more like kept up by many interesting diversions Any ones i could keep, so i could change the others. Not ALL are youngsterish, are they ?
These are pretty good: User is shooting practice for the enemy User is an inspiration to all User is a charismatic hero User is a brilliant leader User is worth dying for User is a living legend User is the pride of the nation These are decent (idea is good; would be great if modified a little in the right manner): User is a survivor User is a front runner User is a real fighter Actually, "User is shooting practice for the enemy" could be used as one of the lower levels instead of being up in the middle. Something like the second from top; which would call for cleverer lines following that.
So far I have these.. still working on them and some more: User is at basic training User is a frontliner User is a battlefield scavenger User experienced CQC (close quater combat) User survived grevious injuries User is a hero to the squadron User is allergic to bullets User is a grizzled veteran User had won the war
Well, lightless, both posts together, these are my favorites: User has a high buffoon factor User is good at shining boots and cleaning guns . User is shooting practice for the enemy . . . . User is a phenomenal fighter User is an inspiration to all User is a charismatic hero User is a brilliant leader User is worth dying for User is a living legend User is the pride of the nation Anyway, very good work. Guess I will wait for the deadline and see if I get better entries for the same. Good day!
My last try for now ..... user can't follow simple one word orders User is good at shining boots and cleaning guns user is good for carrying around ammunition User is shooting practice for the enemy User is a quick learning soldier User is brave and tough as nails User is a true survivor User is a phenomenal fighter User is a well oiled engine of war User is an inspiration to all User is a charismatic hero User is a brilliant leader User is worth dying for User is a living legend User is the pride of the nation
User has just been enlisted User has trouble holding a firearm User is getting pricked by barbed wires User is struggling at boot camp User is a soldier among the masses User is a Private User is a Division Unit User is earning his respect User is an acknowledged Corporal User is a respected Captain User is saluted by all men User is a charismatic General User is a veteran war hero User is the embodiment of America's pride ^My stab at it :] EDIT: :O oops. 3 minutes late.
Thanks a lot for the effort dizzeh, but lighless' attempt definitely had more creative juice there. Sorry.
