    I have created a blog on zorg-links.com

    I used the same theme as the theme on my directory. I have written a good article on "10 essential things you must do with your phpLB directory"

    It includes :
    1 : Fix IPN Bug
    2 : Improve SE Friendliness
    3 : Add a decent site title
    4 : Increase minimum bid
    5 : Enable USD PayPal Balance
    6 : Add categories
    7 : Make Link Detail Pages more SE Friendly
    8 : Add deep links mod
    9 : Change Google Hating Phrases
    10 : Change your design

    Good article, also adding the description mod I think is a must and on my bid directory I also changed the hyperlink to the site title, instead of the URL on the detail page.

    I dont think description mod is vital, you can survive without it as seen here

    Your right it isn't vital, just what I think is a must as quite a few bid directories I see use the limited 2 description lines, essentially giving little text for a description, not much spider-food there. Granted it doesn't really matter when you are linked to by a very powerful network as the example you posted.

    I add unique content on my category pages to give googlebot and his friends some food.

    The two i mentioned in the blog post are still valid. I expect the site title bug to be fixed next update, but the paypal US dollars balance is something that needs to be done by the owner.
