Make sure the banners match the site's color schema. One thing I don’t like about these banners is the space/sun theme in the background...it's too new age, “heavenly†for our purposes... so remove that effect, tone it down, or replace it with something more subtle. I am looking for something gentle with a good balance between feminine and masculine. Feel free to be creative, but make sure the design fits with our current web design.
