1) It's all in your mind Change your thinking/beliefs/mindset. If you think you can, you can (and vice versa is true too). Whatever new venture you dive in, think and 'believe' that it is easy and that you WILL be successful. 2) Start with an end in mind Ask yourself "what do i want to achieve from this exercise"...then create a plan around it and stick to it. 3) Check your "target market" This is more important then you may realize...Are you trying to sell ice-cream to someone living in Antarctica?...you got my point, right? 4) Twitter: A monstrous party! Think of Twitter as a big party. Now, when you go to a party, you dont just start "selling" or telling people what you sell, do you? So, building a "relationship" is VERY important...Tweet/share something of value first (motivational quotes, interesting news, something about yourself, book recommendations, jokes...etc) 5) Be Yourself and present your personality! Show your personality, share something personal or your hobbies, spread love & laughter and most importantly, treat others how you'd expect to be treated yourself (if you hate spam, other's probably hate it too!) 6) Give and you shall receive The Golden Rule: The rule?...well you might have heard about it a thousand times...are your ready?...here it is: Give and you shall receive The Golden Ratio: The ratio I go by is, approx 10:1, so for every 10 value-add-tweets, I would tweet just one, where I sell/offer something of value to my target market. 7) Automation: The lazy way to tweet Use some free/cost effective automation software to speed up the process of tweeting/relationship building (if you're lazy...like most people are! ) 8) Follow and Forgive Make it a rule to Follow people who follow you and Unfollow, who doesn't follow you! 9) Disciplined consistency Be consistent, even if it means 30 mins a day...but stick to it! 10) 3R's Lastly Review, Rinse and Repeat all of the above!!! So there you have it, I have given you a recipe (a secret recipe) for Twitter Success...Remember, if you've done your homework, attracted or followed the RIGHT people and build a relationship with them, even a thousand followers will be happy to give you their money...but if you haven't, prepare to be disappointed! I think automation is a bad idea when trying to build a business or do online marketing. It doesn not take long to make a few good tweets a day on twitter. =)
Thanks, been using these on my recent twitter campaign. Just started using some automation, manually sorting through contacts can take forever!
Thanks for the insight. I just decided to use twitter as an internet marketing tool. I never knew you could do that since I have no idea how it really works. Could you please explain point 7 further about the automation software. Any suggestions? Thanks.
