    Hey there,

Now I know this will be a very noobish question to all your pros, but hopefully if given good answers this will help out a lot of us "amateurs".

My question is: How long will it take to reach my goal of $10 dollars a day?
If I work one hour a day. I have school again soon :p
Right now I am at $0.50-$1.00 a day.

Take into consideration - Offpage SEO, Advertising, yadda yadda.

Hope this post doesn't miff anyone off.

Depends on the niche and your site. Competitive niches pay way more per click, whereas less competitive niches pay less but are easier to rank and get traffic for.

Forgot to mention my niche. It is Global Warming/Energy Crisis. It pays quite well. From .10 to .80.
.50 cents is the average. So right now I only get 1-2 clicks a day and I have around 20 UV a day.
It is a one week old forum.

Its not gonna take that long. And yes it depends on your niche.

Very long time ago. when i earn only $1 per day, i was kinda annoyed. then after 1 months I average 3 buck per day, and hen after 2 months, 4-5 bucks per day..
    My niche was fashion.

Your niche seemed to be relevant to green earth lovers and school students who are propabably reading up for school work.

You should be able to get some traffic slowly. but I dont think you can get results that fast.

because doing PPC may not be so effective and the only way to promote is to go to relevant forums. or bum marketing.

But its kinda hard to see the equivalence result if you comoare the time spend on an article vs the traffic and click, but like I said, in the long run, it will be profitable if you get enough quality content..

not so fast cuz it not a immediate action required sort of niche if you get what mean.

    1. For starters, it depends on what your site looks like. If it isn't very good, you will have a high bounce rate. High bounce rate means very little money.

    2. Where are your ads placed? That too can affect your earnings.

If you can, put some of them inbetween the posts in the threads. But do not over do this as this may irritate your readers.

    3. Better your odds even more by adding more sales info., a punch to the ad. This is kind of hard to explain, but you put a picture above the ads, and put a sales pitch along with it. But, at the same time you do not want to be so obvious that you are breaking their rules!

    4. You can find advertisers spending big bucks on Adwords too, thus you will make more money in return. Simply start a “campaign,’’ and then see how much you have to spend, bid, for a particular keyword to stay on top. Then find the ads that ARE on top. Those are the advertisers to send an e-mail to!
Do keyword searches on medical terms, lawyers, insurance, research on diseases, like cancer….

You could find advertisers spending a minimum of, say, $5 a click. Charge them $1!

Do the same with Yahoo and MSN.

If you want more money, get more traffic. Obviously, huh? :)

BenderFry, just out of curiosity, for the ads you are getting the average .50 cents, how much is the advertiser paying Google? Or, rather, what percentage does a publisher get from adsense ads?

I think it depends on what you do with that 1 hour a day. If your just writing content for your site then id expect it to take a few months at least. If your trying to make at least $10 a day then then I would target keywords that have a high payout for adsense. i.e people are paying over $40 for the term "consolidate student loan". I would create a site based on that term and then get a list of longtail keywords for that term and write articles and submit them to ezine articles. Doing this you could easily make $10 a day within a week or 2 for only an hours work a day. Then rinse and repeat.

I think you are going to have to go for very long tail keywords. This niche is by far the fastest growing.

And probably the most important thing. PICK YOUR AUDIENCE!

Every web-savvy person is ad-blind, however the older folks who don't use the computer all day long are the ones that make you money.

Well the blog (and no not the one in my signature) I'm trying to build right now is based around keywords like "Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Sexy Celebrities" and sometimes it pays .25$ a click and most of the time it pays .2$ a click.

The highest I've seen is 2 clicks in a row worth a little over $1 a piece.
How hard can $10 a day be? Look up ShoeMoney and look at his AdSense Check. Right now for the day I'm at 1,380 views, 30 clicks, 2.17% CTR and $1.65 earnings, so it all depends on the niche.

This isn't true. You can still build a very well rounded forum because a lot of people visit multiple forums, but it all just depends on if people have a reason to stay. Sure you'll get visitors out of curiosity to look around, but provide some free methods, hand me downs and other things to get people coming back and contributing on a regular basis.

I've been lazy with mine, as I've been doing other stuff.

Some days ago you posted a question why you didnt have a lot of members yet on your 6 days old forum. I replied to that question and I hope you have read it.

Now for this question I can say: nobody knows how long it will take before you reach the 10 dollar goal. You need to post a lot of content in your forum and get backlinks. Make sure your forum can be spidered and have a lot of patience. Most of your visitors will arrive via search engines and you have to wait till your pages start to rank in SE's. There is not a lot you can do about it.

So the key is: content - links - content - links - content - links
and patience. A lot of patience. Continue to build unique content. And your $10 day will come. And your $20 if you continue, and $50 if you continue etc etc. But you need patience and don't give up.
