Well all my keywords are now $10 mins up from about .30 cents.

Well I figure...I will bid up to $10 on all keywords and I should just be paying for top position which is around $1.10 last time I checked.....when things were normal. I also set a budget of just $10.....just in case I got a $10 a click charge....which I very well thought might happen. (They say MIN bid they usually charge that)

Well I look and $90 dollars later my campaign is still active. They never stopped at the budget for campaign....and I got charge $10 a click. Oh and nothing changed as far as keyword MINS.

a min bid = $10 means that your quality Score is 0 zero.

If you receive the a click is very clear that you will be charged for $5~$10 for a single click.

    do the right thing:

Every one are having problems with this.

I am having problems with 2 of my accounts that I managed and they are reviewing the issue. Never bid a value thinking that Adwords will bring you a magic valuable user - this does not exist.

    Hi,

This is my first post. I sought out the forum after seeing my costs jump from .04 to $1 and even $10.

I have a kidney-related site (I've had kidney stones all my life) filled with original articles and resources for people like me with kidney problems. Until yesterday, I had been funneling about 40 keywords to a single page that included a high value ad. It was working magnificently.

    Until this morning.

So I tested a $1 ad for the keyword "kidney," and intended to set a budget maximum. Well, I got distracted by something, came back to my AdWords account a couple of hours later...and saw I had racked up more than $100 in charges.

My costs were running around .80-.90 per click.

I'm looking forward to continuing to read posts here in the next few days to see how folks are dealing with this. And yes, I've now changed the landing pages to match up better with my keywords--but so far, it hasn't helped.

    Best wishes to all...gpmck

I thought they charge a penny over the top bid. I used bid carelessly and let Google charge whatever was needed. Bid $0.20 and get charge $0.05. I have read up on how quality score affects it but I don't think you should be charged ten if the next guy is $1.10.

I've seen some high mins but a lot are just irritating, was 0.20 now lots are 0.30 or 0.40.

From the Google Adwords Learning Center:
"Overdelivery occurs when one or more of your ads in a specific campaign receive more clicks than the campaign's daily budget allows. Google doesn't charge you for these extra clicks and will automatically issue an overdelivery credit on your invoice for additional clicks accrued.

Our system works to deliver enough ads to fully satisfy your daily budget over your billing period. Because page views fluctuate from day to day due to user behavior and system delays, we may overdeliver ads up to 20% more of your daily budget on any given day to make up for potential shortfalls that occur during your billing period."

Btw. If 2 people are bidding $10 on linkpro's keyword then I guess google is correct to charge $10?

If your daily budget was set at $10, technically they could have run up to $300 for the 1 day. Your daily budget is calculated over the entire month. ($10 x 30 days = $300). It is possible to run up your entire campaign in just 1 day, though it is not likely to happen. The reason why you were so far over in just the one day is that since 16 days had already passed in the month, adwords figured it had room to catch up.

Its a pisser, but they do explain how the daily campaign works so unless the MONTHLY total is exceeded, there isnt much you can do.

Sorry for this late answer, but the above statement isn't correct. If your daily budget is $10 google will at most charge you $12. (Adwords can overdeliver up to 20% per day).
