I noticed Bing is creeping up the Marketshare on Google....fantastic, I think they should give Google a run for their money and opens the market up more. Having a very big player and not much competition was never the best for the customer .....

    Bing marketshare - 10.7%

This is good news. I agree with the concept, but not what's happening right now. Should Bing ever catch up with Google, or even overtake it sometime soon, this would mean Microsoft will be dominating this industry as well as the PC/Desktop market.

While Google has plans of launching its own OS (applaud), it's not really a full OS just like Windows or the dozens of Linux OS flavors out there. I wish they just developed a full-blown OS instead of a "boots to browser" or cloud computing type. I know they are targeting the net books for this. But with a big company like Google making another OS, or heavily modifiying Linux-based OS, it might be successful enough to get a fair share of the market. This way we can have true choices coz let's face it, MacOS and Linux combined is not even close to what Windows has right now. :)

Microsoft has a long way to go before they catch up with Google. They are however certainly heading in the right direction with Bing. Maybe the tie-up with Yahoo and Amazon if it goes ahead will really give them the boost they need to become a major player in the search market.

I believe, Microsoft should advertise their Search Engine in Asian Countries like Pakistan, China, India etc, major traffic of Google is coming from these countries.

    Regards

Agreed, I think if the advertising in the Asian Countries gains momentum over the coming months, I really think we will have a 'real good competition'

Wow. 10.7% marketshare??!!! That's pretty impressive, when you factor that no one that I know of searches on Bing.
I get almost no traffic from Bing too.

I suspect Bing's market share increase has mostly been coming from the US and UK. One of my sites targeting the US has been getting increased in traffic from Bing/Live/MSN since Bing's official launch. But other sites targeting the Chinese market don't see much increase from Bing.
