    I considder a decrease in BL's in Google a good thing, Google only shows low PR pages (in my case they do, although I've heard other people had other experiences) so the more backlinks they "hide" the more backlinks probably increased in PR value over the last months.

    Besides this, the number of backlinks in Google is compeletely useless, use Yahoo if you want to know your backlinks.

    My site went from 0 to 19 BLs in Google. Like everyone else is saying, I have had BLs on G-indexed pages for over 5 weeks and today I saw them for the first time! Lots of you are saying G's link: operator etc, doesn't mean much, well, my opinion is that they have waiting periods for many things and that simply put, their algos are more stringent than other SE's. Lots of people have been dogging them lately, but I still think G is doing the best they can to filter out useless, garbage sites... G is still the best SE - MHO.

    I agree with SEO, I have worked every Sunday for the past 2 months on getting PR5+ links, and not one is listed in this update. My SERPS look steady, so I'm not looking too much into this update.. nice find though :)

    I just saw a huge jump in backlinks for one of my sites and I was really confused because I didn't recognize any of the link-ers. But I figured out that they are all in the ad network. Hurray for the DP ad network! :D

    you know I tend to agree with SEBasic

    My links went from c3000 to c6000

    No improvements in serps at all (must have been all these changes in the last week everyone pointed out)

    Site above me has 200

    Go figure

    <>Replies will be

    -> Themed links
    -> Correct anchor text
    etc

    so yes, the number means el zippo

    I saw a huge drop in back links for a site I'm working on (http://www.luxotica.com/) from ~160 to ~30.

    Guess I won't be too concerned as long as traffic stays steady. :rolleyes:

    Mine went from 54 to 153 which is good :) except almost all of them are from a site I have no idea where they came from and if I check the cache of the pages I can't find the links their reporting. Decent theemed links still are missing. :( Saw some good movement in the serp's also. Up 80 to 85 places on a couple and +9895 and +9936 on another. I think G still has a long ways to go to get their BK reporting un-screwed.

    Not really sure why I bothered checking mine and could care less if they went up or down. When some kind of method replaces the current madness my interest may return.

    I don't care about the back links any more, even in a tiny bit. The only function is that I can know where a certain webmaster is playing around :).

    Honestly not interested in the back links Google is showing for the past updates. My eyes are really sore from looking at those forum links with PR0 or PR1 :)

    there is some consolation that even though G is not showing the high PR links, SERPs are improving.

    I lost backlinks in areas I expected to gain. Well, maybe Ad Network links will show up next time.

    This backlink update is not up-to-date. Google is slowing down. In the last PR update also people were speculating of not so up-to-date update. Maybe Google is not able to cope up with us... ;)

    Just for interest's sake I track microsoft and apple's backlinks (kind of like looking at the NASDAQ in general when you have shares in a company listed on it).

    www.microsoft.com is currently reporting zero backlinks, down from ~ 126,000, so now I feel a little bit better about my drop of 100 BL. :D

    I don't know what tool you are using to track the backlinks... but it sucks :eek: as of now microsoft.com has 141,000 backlinks. :p

    I could see the updated BL information till this morning, but can't see it now: Datacentre 216.239.39.99.

    I just used the Datacentre watch tool and all datacentres are showing me the old info! :eek:
