How much would you think you would make ?? Ok well ive had 2 clicks @ $1.30 and the rest have been rubbish 11cents and so on... anyway my account has reached $5- now my site is in my sig if someone could tell me where ive gone wrong... I have other sites now, well will have in a few days (long story) but anyway 10,000 impressions of good traffic and well only $5 with a total of 23 clicks... from what ive read from other people here they are doing ALOT ALOT better... My site hasn't sold sold so if i end up keeping it will it get better over time or should i not expect so much from 10,000 impressions... Can anyone have a look and see why you think clicks are so low for the amount of impressions.. this is my first site using adsense and well im sure i could find someone willing to pay more than $5- for 10,000 impressions. Anyway thanks for any tips given
hi, i spent more time doing link work then uploading videos, i also run a small link exchange site, so i have done a lot of A-B-C linking, to kick start the site, i put alot of time into that, most traffic is coming from funny joke sites, a few flash game sites, some other video sites, some youtube traffic, meta cafe traffic, digg, buzz, and other various sites who have participated in 3 way linking with me & my other sites, is actually good quality traffic thats why i am at a loss whether or not to use adsence on the new sites i have acquired, seems a low click rate to me from what ive read some people here talking about. i shouldn't have said rubbish clicks i just meant low paying clicks. (Ive never clicked on my on banners either)
Wow your ctr is worse than mine, didn't think I'd ever find someone that has me beat Traffic from places like digg aren't good for clicks. Most of those people are web savy and ad blind. Further, if your site is full of videos and pictures that will decrease ctr, the sites with the best ctr have no pictures. Pictures and videos distract visitors from your ads. Since yours is a video site you don't really have that option or you lose your traffic. I would suggest putting some adsense video ads on your site in places that are accessible to the user next to other videos.
You should try to increase your CTR , as you are getting the traffic , slight changes in the website layout can help you a lot in getting a good CTR . Following are some tips which will help you increase your CTR (I searched the google) 1. Make your ads visible above the fold. Statistics have proved that ads which are visible without scrolling generates highest clicks. Another reason is that the ads will look like normal web links that visitors are used to click on them. Also the large rectangle ad format has proven to be the highest CTR generator. 2. Make your ads blend with your site content. Make sure that your ads background and border color are same as your content background. Ad text and URL should have the same color as that of the font color of your ads. And Make the link color to that of your web pages link color. 3. Make use of set of special comments to tell the Adsense spiders about your main content. This will help AdSense to serve more relevant ads based on your content. And more relevant content means more clicks. 4. Write keyword rich, grammatically correct juicy posts. This will make people read them and spiders will serve the best ads related to your keywords. Make sure you have some large content. Don't place ads on pages with 2 lines of content. 5. Make use of custom channels from your Adsense console. Analyze your stats and tweak settings so that you get the highest CTR. I think this is the problem with video websites. They just dont have enough text content so it shows irrelevant ads. Adding some description might help. YouTube is making millions BUT it has billions of traffic so even 0.01% is enough. How many times do you click ads on YouTube? Every how many videos?100-200? I am getting only image ads. You might have set it to show only image ads. Text ads usually convert much better. You could place other advertising such as highly targeted CPA ads manually on every page. Try different things and see what works best for you.
yes i noticed that, someone uploaded a Wet-tshirt video so i did the right thing by google and removed it, then i have google server me "Raunchy Dating" sites which made me question removing a wet t-shirt comp vid.. but yeah the banners are standing out like dog balls, so atleast im not tricking people into clicking them lol. got another 3 clicks today unsure if thats DP users feeling sorry for me lmao or actualy clicks but yeah working on content sites now.
