Right guys, as we have all heard many times before "the money is in the list" and as it stands currently my list is pretty woeful standing at only 5 people. That is why I am setting myself a target of gaining 10,000 people on my list using only free methods. I will set myself a time limit but I will do that once I see how difficult this challenge is. Here is how I intend to increase the size of my list: I have a squeeze page that grabs people's emails in exchange for a free guide. I am going to write articles that point towards the squeeze page I am going to make tweets pointing towards the squeeze page I am advertising the guide on my blog which is currently getting 30 visitors a day. so that's about it for now, hopefully we can get some lively debate going on email list building that we can all learn from. also at the moment my squeeze page is myblog.com/squeezepage. so it is directly connected to the blog. I will give out the niche once I have achieved my goal but it is a big niche with many sub niches, kind of the same as mmo with all of the different products etc. once I get the people on my list they receive 10 emails a few days apart helping them with the niche and then at the end I sell them a guide. I also intend on emailing them broadcasts once there is a large number of them!
Good stuff. I've just started the exact same journal on NicheChoppers forum. Got my 6 articles in aweber. God my squeeze page up, just ordered 20 articles. We'll see how it goes.
Cool, im not a member over there but if you want to post your results along side mine then thats cool, I take it you have paid for your articles? Im writing all mine myself so we can see the difference between free and paid! The guide is of pretty good quality I think and the 10 emails are designed to sell the users onto one of the products. After that I will have the people on my list to give more information and sell to every now and again. The challenge properly begins tomorrow as that is when I will start writing all my articles and getting tweets going etc.
Good idea, I am doing something similar. Not enough people in this forum taking advantage of listbuilding, myself included. I followed ParthS story with interest, he is aiming for 100 optins a day and nearly there. I think its good to aim big, without any aims then interest will be lost in a few days. A bit disappointed to be honest. But I think I will expand my traffic efforts more. I will also do blog commenting. I am in two minds about maybe paying for advertising e.g. Adwords content network. I'd rather stick to free for now.
Right a couple of days through now and I have 12 subscribers as a result of 1 article that has been posted. Not many emails have been sent to these people so I am still concentrating on getting more people to my squeeze page. So far: 12 subscribers no sales
Only 2 more subscriptions in the past few days, mainly because I sent a couple of article visitors directly to the site. Currently I am getting a 35% CTR on the main squeeze page and a 70% CTR on the free guide page. What do you guys make of these averages.

Yeah, thanks Well going slowly with the list building but made a $14 sale from the minimal people on the list already. Good thing is it is a rebill product so as long as the product is good (i have a review copy and i like it) that should bring in $14 a month for some time now.
Only 18 yano Rolf! I was really surprised I made a sale, the product owner is someone Ive known for a while and he said he gets from email marketing 1/40 sales. Ive now changed my entire email follow up system as well. I found on the vendors affiliate section an aweber campaign code so i just put that onto my aweber account and now have a 'proven' to work 26 email follow up for everyone who signs up to my list. so id recommend everyone who is email marketing check out their vendor page to see if they offer the same sort of thing! Now all i need to concentrate on is getting more leads
