The weekly back up is self initiated as a system process or is it only on request
And the IP location - you can PM if it cannot be displayed here

How long do you plan to last? I want an honest answer, please feel free to PM me if you hesitate to answer here.

The reason why I'm asking you is because last year I bought $5/year hosting from one DP member. He is now banned and he is not replying to my support tickets. My website is alive though. It looks like he has already given up and waiting for his reseller account and domain to expire. I still have 6 months before the year is over and I plan to use these months. I hope his hosting survives till then.

Once I'm done with him I'm going to move the site to another hosting. Your price is attractive as I don't intend to spend much on this site of mine (it's bringing me next to nothing). Will your offer exist 6 months from now?

I'll send you the IP address via PM, I'd rather it not be publicly displayed due to security risks. (Yes I know it's public, although someone is less likely to do anything if it requires work)

As for the backups, these are requested through a ticket and are started the next day (00:00:01AM)

After that it becomes a automated system process that takes place weekly. Backups are stored on external hard drives off-site of the servers. They are then archived in a central based storage unit accessible only by two people. We use finger-print technology for access to the drives, and require passwords for all requested actions. The back-ups placed on our central unit are automatically deleted every 4 weeks, or every two weeks for clients who have canceled with our service.

This is a business I've planned for well over a year, I have no intentions of dropping off the face of the planet in the next five years. Things may mellow out, although Host-Monkey.com will not be going anywhere. Being a official, registered company, we will survive at the bare minimum of a year.

But to dream a bit, in the next 10 years I see us as one of the major competitors with HostGator, DreamHost, etc...

Just a update for all potential clients, the FFMPEG package only has a couple slots left. Reserve those while they last...

After that it costs extra per year to have FFMPEG or a video based website.

Not sure what to tell you, it's running fine on our side, and we just tested it through hyperspin. Running fine around the world as well.

I'll take a look at our DNS settings, your the second person to tell me they are having hit or miss connections.

Hey guys, I'm a family member of dev-ebusinesses. He's asked me to take over this thread until his ban expires.

Don't worry, he was banned for updating the thread too much to give you guys support and replies, which I still don't understand is a ban. Although please route all questions to me, and I will route them to him.

    Thanks everyone

*He said he will post up an announcement on the Host-Monkey website in the announcements section on the billing, just so you guys know I'm who I say I am. =)

Gah I hate how they're draconian with warnings and bans when you're only updating information to your clients. He does have a business.

Ban for updating a thread? This is too much. Lately I have seen too many members getting banned and intersetingly, they all have webhosting business. Is there some connection?

Not sure, all I know is that he didn't post for over 24 hours and he had 9 infractions. He was "banned" for a month for supposedly posting when he was without internet for 24 hours.

All I know if this thread is for his business, and I would need to keep this post alive for a month.

    So I'm here :)

Alright so I;ve been tinkering.. 2 power sessions installing and setting up some prett wordpress blogs.. Adding content.. setting up emails lalalalalalala.. Makeing a long story short I've been in the cpanel ALLOT.. and at random.

I have experienced NO downtime. Zero latency issues... not to mention I've already had some kook try a vulnerability check on me.. To no avail..

Bottom line I'm extremely happy with this service. It's about time there was some actually customer service and actual integrity in maintenance in this type of business.

    THANK YOU

    - Sean

This is from Will, I'm posting since he technically can't use my account.

"Wow Sean, thanks for the amazing review, I'm glad to know were pleasing our customers, again thanks for the review"

Just another notice, Host-Monkey.com's director, Will Perkins, will be featured on TV tonight @ 6:00pm. We will post more information about this on our website and not here (just so we don't lose two accounts).

I've only just seen this thread again now, so I'll reply it since I don't like getting called a liar.

10Mbps connection on a server is 330GBish bandwidth, and that is only if you have peak all the time, which is unlikely.

10 x 330GB is 3300GB bandwidth, 3300GB / 300GB (bandwidth of first package) works out to 11 packages per server.

Which in turn is where I got my pricing, showing that you can't offer this hosting without overselling greatly. If you fit fit 30 customers on each box, of the first plan alone, it would be nearly 3 times the limit you are allowed to physically push on a server. No matter how much you bandwidth pool you can't create bandwidth out of nothing, it still costs the same, you are still paying for it all.

And this is all based off if you only hosted 11 of the FIRST package only, but you said you are hosting 30 customers on each box, on each 10mbps line.

    Please see my reply above.

    Response from Will:
"Please stay out of my thread as you missed my post obviously, multiple servers does the trick...."

Also, the FFMPEG packages are officially now all gone. We are now charging $5.00/Year on, only for our yearly packages, to have the ability to run a FFMPEG based website.

You still have to pay for those servers, unless you get them for free.
