1 yr old site, original content, where am I going wrong?

Belatedly found this forum and was wondering if you can give any tips that are different from what I´ve already implemented.

Site is almost a year old and has over 300 unique human visitors a day with return visitors included the total is around 430. Average length of stay is 1.7 pages. Income through adsense and hotels is approx $80 a month....

So, How do I increase earnings? What am I doing wrong?

Note: All content is hand created by myself and unique. Lots of hours put into the site now trying to figure out how to reap the "supossed" rewards!

I'm no expert, but you don't seem to have any adsense on your pages...

For example I can't see any adsense on that page. You might want to replace the image of the hotel room with an adsense ad unit for example.

I recently posted in the adsense forum, the advice I received was great. One of the posters has a website on adsense;

I´ll go and have a look at the adsense forum as well then.

I´ve been loath to incorperate too much adsense as I´ve regular traffic from wikipedia, go and other sites that tend to frown on overly ad rich pages. The accomodation page leads into the hotels I´m trying to sell through affiliates as opposed to adsense paying little per click.

I think you should put an ad at the top of the index page

 

The only adsense you had was halfway down... and $80 a month from 300 uv's per day isn't too bad... one of my sites has about 200 uv's per day and is making like $20 per month...

adding one ad up top would probably help; just don't let the adsense ads take over your site...
