Selling 1+ Year Old site, Compete 23.602

I've started writing on this site from January 1st 2010 (the site is more than 1 year old.) Since then, the site has been on Digg Frontpage 5 times, some of its pages got very popular on stumbleupon (like for example this http://www.mixthenet.com/average-stumbleupon-user/ got 100k+ SU views, you can verify if you have the Stumbleupon toolbar).

The PR is 3 but I expect when the next update is on, the PR to be 4-5 minimum.

Most of the traffic comes from StumbleUpon (Stumbleupon will continuously send traffic to the site, so many articles got popular there and SU likes that type of content.)

I also get traffic from Google, 20-30 daily on average. The site ranks #6 for gmail tips and also has the potential to rank higher for some higher terms.

About monetization, some people offered me to buy text links but I rejected. I haven't tried buysellads you should get also some big dollars there.

Overall, you have a lot of opportunity to develop this site. In the next compete.com update, the site will be in top 10k sites prob. so that should give you an edge if you're trying to get advertisers.

The Alexa ranking should be higher but it's lower because almost all the people who come are from US. That's why compete ranking is much much higher.

I may be interested - but why do you expect the Compete rank to go up next month?

 

Primarily because of this: http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.mixthenet.com/average-stumbleupon-user/ the latest Compete rankings are for April the ones for May should be released within the next couple days. Also during that month one post got on the Digg FP. And also it's getting natural links, for example I got this one http://bit.ly/ax2Qxo today PR6 domain very popular site. The site has a perspective is someone is willing to put the effort.
