    Hello,
Today I've made a new page in the useful tools, that is a simple tip to know what is being searched for right now on Google.
Thanks to the tool Google Hot Trends, now called Hot searches it seems..
They have expanded the number of countries it covers, so I made a page for the 4 foremost english speaking countries, so you can spot trends quickly and write about them if you'd like, as part of your daily routine.
Anyway, I hope you like it, so you can just bookmark it in your SEO folder in your bookmark bar, it's a quick way to see what's going on in the world of search since we last checked :)

I'm able to see the keyword "Amanda Bynes" on first, and when I click the anchor text "Amanda Bynes" it showing news site.

So is it for news site only?

It is mainly what is on the news yes, such as celebrity scandals or death, or a natural catastrophic event, or a terrorist attack or some sport event, etc.
Simply because the volume of what's new searches and the variation (progression) in searches for those keywords from a normal day to a day where it's in the news is high. Also it's in the news because it's popular/happening, and it's also being searched for because it's in the news, it's a snowball effect.
It tells you what's going on, but if you write content about this and it's fresh, you have chances to receive traffic especially if the topic gets on top on the news for some time and it wasn't much discussed before.

So yes, it is not for general topics, evergreen ones. For general topics, see my other pages (linked from that one page) about google insights widgets.
