Hi, I'm currently developing a new site which I think is going to end up with a lot of content, under something like 5 major categories (then subcategories below them possibly).

I am wondering what the best situation for me is with regards to Sitemaps?

    Am I better off:
    1. Submitting one major sitemap.
    2. Submitting multiple sitemaps, one per major category.
    3. Submitting one major sitemap AND the multiple sitemaps per major category?

What I'm looking for is which idea will improve my Google indexing...

Any help / information would be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks a lot!

I would go with number two and Submit multiple sitemaps, one per major category. This is so because webmaster tools only allows you up to 50,000 URLs per sitemap.
