1 single site or 10 smaller niche sites?

I find myself in the following situation:
I am in the process for hiring someone as a web editor and link builder and I want to assign him/her a brand new task.

My initial idea was to start 10 different niche sites and edit each of these daily so in 3-4 months to have a small network of niche site with affiliate products.

Sounds to me as a good idea, however, I ask myself if it wouldn't be better to start only one single site and instead of writing, let's say, 1 article per day per site, to write 10 articles per day for this single site. The idea would be the same, affiliate products.

What would be better in terms of traffic, business?

The difference is that you don't put all your eggs in one single basket and if one doesn't work out at least there's a backup. I don't know, not necessarily true because usually it depends on other factors as well.

True, that is my idea also, however I am afraid of spreading thin.

And also a larger site in time will gain more weight in google when adding new pages, plus that having let's say 10 articles added each day, practically Google will keep an eye on the site and the site will rank very fast for new added low hanging fruit content.

However, from my experience it is easier to reach 100 UV/day on a site so on 10 sites to have 1000 UV/day than to reach on one single site 1000 UV.

Focus one site at a time. Have too many sites one shot is hard for you to focus, unless you have enough people to help you out to promote your websites.

Do one at a time, once the site is stable and is giving you a good income, then move on.

These small sites are gray sites they will help you to promote your main site (white site). I have 5 gray sites and one main... These small sites are used for link exchange....I add 2-3 articles on every site each week...

I would say go for 4 or 5. Updating 10 sites with fresh content every day is going to be a drag, especially if you're writing everything yourself and update every site with decent content. 4 or 5 is a lot more realistic, and will not only give you less writing to do, but will also give you more time to focus on each individual site to work on advertising, SEO and the similar.

I advise you to go for a single site.
There are many advantage over having 10 site.
Its more easy to manage and you can focus the site to make it popular

I agree with edward..so one at a time..and then add on as your skills grow and you develop the confidence..if you start with too many, you may end up with ten mediocre sites than one fantastic site!

Try to complete and focus for single blog. Then after you have succeeded to generate money and obtain huge traffic try to create new blog. You can use your famous blog as promotion medium for the newest one.It really works but time management is very important!

I suggest you start a general blog first and developed the traffic for that single blog. Get subscribers, auto- responders or anything. It require some strategic planning here.

Upon reaching a certain level and recognition then you begin another site or campaign. Then use the first site to lead it here.

    All the best :)

I would suggest many sites, with linkbacks from each to your main site. Focus only on one site, and keep others as link exchange sites to rank up ur main site.
