Just out of curiosity i need to know one thing about wordpress.

Today i was just searching some articles and went to varoius blogs , in some blogs i saw the URL " Link " is ending with " .html " and some of them with only slash " / " . My question is that out of these 2 which link is the best for SEO ?? or both of them are waste :p

    Thanks

    Marshal

i think they are both rated roughly the same.

the important thing to focus on here, is making your you have the right keywords in the URL structure, not necessarily if it ends in".html" or "/"

I've always used the suffix .html. I read that / can look like an open directory and be not as 'trusted' for some SE's. Not saying that's TRUE, just saying what I've read. I personally always go with .html.

There's actually a setting in the preferences where you can dictate how the URLs are structured if htaccess is available and enabled. You can pretty much structure your URLs whatever way you see fit.

For keywords there are free plugins, you don't need to buy one.
Just search "keywords" from your own Wordpress plugin search page. This way you get going faster with your website. Good luck. :)

I was in your position recently too. I went with All-In-One-SEO plugin. Although there are quite a few to choose from, it is usually best to go with the ones that look like they are being developed and updated frequently. The worst thing that can happen is that you implement and configure a plugin, and 6 months down the line after a wordpress update, the plugin causes errors and nobody is fixing it.. Good luck!

I agree with Jinhatsu on all he said.

Marshal, I don't hear much about Sniper, while All in one SEO is always being updated and always being recommended like you said.. it's going to be around for long. Plus, lots of people using it means lots of people to find bugs if they happen, lots of people donating to project (maybe), and so lots of work being put into project to keep it the best.

    Hi Marshal,

I use categories to organize the site "user-side" (I expect people to browse the site easily by seeing a list of categories).
I use tags to define keywords, and that's what I set in All in One SEO. If you don't like how the tags show up at your site, you can change the WP theme, so they don't show for the user on top of the posts and pages, leaving them only for defining the page keywords. Might make the posts look better if you use many keywords, then you make your main keywords (only) into categories the user can see and Google can browse to.

It’s my way of doing it, not a rule.
