    What's more important, whether it redirects or not, is whether you found what you were looking for! ;)

    An in-domain redirect seems pretty harmless to me.

    So, how do you think this guy has the #1 position for sex on Google? Checking the backlinks, I see mostly his own web site. It is very content rich though.

    www. salon.com/sex/index.html is the URL which shows #1 for me in the SERP's. (which redirects)
