what is the best number of blocks to use per page ? i am talking about click price does it affected with number of blocks as i heared that 1 block gives more ?
I cannot say for sure that more blocks is the cause of less pay per click, but I saw it happen after I added a few link boxes to my site... so I think it may very well have some kind of effect.
I did some research with some of my articles and I found that one at the top pulled a similar CTR as two at the top and had better EPC, and with one at the bottom it gets a fairly healthy click through rate from all those that actually read the article in entirety. So my vote is for one at the top and one at the bottom. No need to offer a third - it is just offering your visitors cheaper and less relevant ads to click...
We should go for 3. We should use the maximum facility given by G so that we can have max. advantage of the same.
IMO the number of ad blocks depends on the niche you are in. High paying niches should have three blocks whereas low paying niches would be best with one block.
Personally I think it more depends on how many advertisers their are for a niche - I mean if you are really talking a very small niche you could be talking about there only being a couple of genuine advertisers that are bidding competitive for terms. If the top 5 are bidding $2/click but 5-10 are bidding $.10/cents then clearly it is in your interest not to have those 10 cent clicks shown... so having too many ads showing could lead to your visitors clicking the low EPC ads.
I agree that it really depends on the niche. I hardly ever go for more than two, because google has trouble filling even those up on many of my pages. On some sections of my website I change that to one normal one, and one links-block at the bottom, so a viewer can click on the subject they think is interesting. Niches with lots of advertisers - more blocks starts making sense. Conclusion: test it!
I like putting 3 boxes, one link unit - that's for myspace related sites though which are pure numbers game
Well said. Just run a trial for a week or so across a big enough sample and just compare the results.
The best way to determine the number of ads is to judge the ratio of page content to ad content. Don't overpower your page content with ad content. If you only have a small amount of content on a page, one small ad block will do. If you have a large amount of content, three large ad blocks might work if they are distributed in such a way as to not dominate your content. Another consideration is how badly you want your visitors to click ads and leave your site. If your site content is important you may only want one ad block to keep your visitors on your site as long as possible. More than one ad block may distract your visitors and lessen the importance of your content.
