#1 on Google News; How much traffic can you get ???

    Hi Guys,

    I was wondering how much traffic you can drive in for the #1 spot on Google news site. I know it depends on the niche/time etc. but can someone provide your experience with featuring at #1 on Google news?

    Also, how does this affect on your backlinks/SEO?

    I've got around 6,000 an hour from one of my sites that's listed in Google News, but that was for a very high traffic term.

    If you want hits just do reports on whatever is big at the moment.

    If I may ask.. how does that work?

    When I make a news report on one of my sites about a hot topic, there is a chance that google might pick up on it, and publish it???

    Would love to know.

    The matter with news listed websites is that they might suddenly get to the traffic peak and then might vanish in the online world and traffic sources like the organic results with fixed rankings could be better for monetizing purposes.

    Guys I just purchased a press release from a site which guaranteed to make it appear on the first page of G news for the selected keyword. Else they promised money back. Guess they’ll publish it soon. I’ll keep you guys updated about this.

    prweb.com will come in google News not your website. if you website get rank in google news then you get more taffic and your website will cache regular and lot of benifit you will get if your website in Google news

    1) your website will cache with in 1 hrs after post your news
    2)Your website will more trusted compare to other website
    3)Get more traffic from Google news and News Alert
    4)your website feed will use in google Reader

    shaileshk, thanks for your inputs.. I too realize the importance of doing a PR with PRWeb (their SEO PR should be the best). But it is a bit expensive considering my budget...

    BTW, have you ever tried a PR with them? If so, how well did it go?

    I think having such a first page wont effect too much,mine is number 1 in almost 300 milions result for keywords finance post of today,but non interesting truly happen after wards
